most hindus don't think much of most muslims (though some respect islam on traditionalism/perennialist grounds) and muslims think hindus are heathen idol worshippers and hinduism is deviltry
broad strokes, but this the private reality that needs to be never spoken of in public

as i'm atheist and have never really been muslim, some tolerant progressive hindus have told me what they *really* think of islam privately (no big surprise, regressive narrow-minded exclusivist religion)...while muslims, I've had first-hand experience what they think of hindus

anyway, they can't say out loud what they really think of each other, so it sucks, and they are frustrated. but that's life sometimes
thank god i'm in america and no one cares about that shit so i can say it :)

all this public posturing. but the reality is that outside of a few rarified intellectuals and cosmopolitan elites hindus and muslims can't really stand each other on a communal level due to incommensurable religious values (interpersonal there are plenty of good relations)

if i ever become rich i'll tweet about what's going on in america in private that we can't say in public but which inform public discourse and posturing. or perhaps I'll move to another country and do it some day
