A ban on attending university is not a ban on education.
If more university education made a society better, then the US and UK would be the best countries, but they are degenerate, materialistic societies lacking piety and fear of Allah.
It really confuses me how Muslims can see evil kuffar like public officials in France, Germany, and North America seething and raging at this decision, and still somehow think the decision is wrong.
Weakening Western institutions will strengthen Islamic institutions.
The university system is an institution, and the family is an institution. As the former has grown in strength the latter has become weaker.
The family can also be a medium for knowledge transmission and development, including knowledge of medicine, education, manufacturing...
...and agriculture, but it builds knowledge in a way which makes BOTH men and women MORE dependent on the family, and not less.
We in the West have seen the "freedom" that economically independent women have, and it's a curse.
If there is a need for the professions produced by the Western university system while Islamic educational institutions are being developed and improved, we should also consider the conditions in environments with resource shortages.
Market dynamics affect education as any other sector, so more demand for education increases the price of education. Likewise, more women in the formal labor market also drives down wages. Men, as breadwinners, should always have priority for professions located outside the home.
