Am in the medical profession, a woman too, and I would love to clarify on periods and pain killers. Ladies, pain killers are okay for you to use if you get really bad menstrual cramps. I've heard things being said - everything from if you take pain killers when on your period,
you'll get barren, infertile, you'll produce a child with deformities etc and it's all not true. Because for starters, that's not even how pain meds work. You do not take them and they somehow go to your ovaries, uterus or whatever it is you think they go. Pain is managed from
the brain. The medication latches onto pain receptors and refuses the brain from getting the signal for you to feel pain. It has nothing to do with your uterus. Millions of women around the world depend on pain medications for menstrual cramps. It's not just a Ugandan problem.
The only struggle here, is you figuring out what medication does the job for your particular levels of pain. Because those differ. Alcohol, salt, fatty foods, sugars will give you worse cramps. So you may need advice from a professional about safe but stronger meds for your pain.
