Your employees are underperforming due to your shitty processes, not their skill level
Here are 4 things you're probably fucking up that is leading to poor employee performance
👇
1- Expectations (KPIS/Goals)- Setting the Bar
The easiest way to enable high performance in your business is proper expectations
Clearly defining what success vs failure looks like sets a clear bar
When that bar is set, team members will naturally strive for it
You likely don't have clear standards around KPIs & goals
Here is how you can implement this:
1- Identify responsibilities per role
2- From responsibilities, identify SMART goals
3- From the goals, identify the KPIs that lead to accomplishing those goals
When you have these three items, and present them to employees during onboarding, a bar is set
Clear goals and targets make it easy to perform
This is why a shit ton of people starting running a 4 minute mile once Roger Bannister showed it was possible
2- Training- Teaching your people how to think on their own
Training is one of the most misunderstood concepts in modern busines today
Effective training includes:
A roadmap presenting the available options to perform one task
An if-then map when to choose how to perform a task
A training on how to execute the path chosen
An auditing process by management
A feedback process by management
Rinse and repeat
If you're truly committed to the performance of your new hires, you'll need a training calendar with:
>Time blocks to train
>Time blocks to audit
>Time blocks to coach
>Time blocks to review progress & results
3- Project Management- A simple way to stay on task
Most agencies suck at project management
If you can:
>Define the steps in a process
>Define who owns which step
>Define when each step is due
>Templatize each step per client and function
You'll enable high performance
4-Visbility/Auditing/Feedback
With effective project management, leadership can audit
Auditing is the process of ensuring team member performance meets standards
Often times, performance decreases over time due to complacency
Auditing enables us to catch this and fix it
I have yet to find an agency that has had all of the components set up properly
Our 7 & 8 figure clients see MASSIVE results by implementing due to:
>Decreased involuntary turnover
>Increased performance
>Higher LTV
