“He was wearing a damn three-piece suit when he opened the door for me,” Jungkook speaks through his gritted teeth, whisper-shouting, “are you sure the guy is normal?”
Yoongi snorts, “yeah? Why would him wearing a suit indicate that he is not normal?”
“He was wearing a damn three-piece suit when he opened the door for me,” Jungkook speaks through his gritted teeth, whisper-shouting, “are you sure the guy is normal?”
Yoongi snorts, “yeah? Why would him wearing a suit indicate that he is not normal?”
“Because!” Jungkook whisper-shouts again, “hyung! We are in damn college, and who wears a three-piece suit here?! That too, that early in the morning, in his own damn dorm! Who does that?!”
“Maybe he had an interview or something,” Yoongi sounds careless, “who cares, kook?”
“Maybe he had an interview or something,” Yoongi sounds careless, “who cares, kook?”
Jungkook curses, “he gave me a nasty once-over as if I am the bane to his existence!”
“You sound like he is the same to you!” Yoongi laughs, “listen, he is Joon's brother. Expect a little weirdness from him. Okay?”
Jungkook curses, “I just hope he is not some pretentious dork!”
“You sound like he is the same to you!” Yoongi laughs, “listen, he is Joon's brother. Expect a little weirdness from him. Okay?”
Jungkook curses, “I just hope he is not some pretentious dork!”
“I just hope his brother comes to visit him time to time,” Jungkook lies down on the bed, a dreamy sigh escaping him, “because, that's the only reason I agreed to this. To see that hunk!”
“Control yourself, he is an assistant professor of your university!” Yoongi answers.
“Control yourself, he is an assistant professor of your university!” Yoongi answers.
Jungkook shrugs, “assistant professor. Just a few years older than me! He-” Jungkook stops when the tune reaches his ears, and he springs up on the bed.
“This motherf'cker is playing Jazz, hyung!” Jungkook whines, face contorting as if he is in pain, “oh, my God, he is so fake!”
“This motherf'cker is playing Jazz, hyung!” Jungkook whines, face contorting as if he is in pain, “oh, my God, he is so fake!”
Yoongi giggles, “okay, I will leave you to it then. Enjoy your first day in the dorm, kook. Remember. You have to bear him for two years. Only.”
“Only?!” Jungkook gets up from the bed, “only?! It's damn 730 days!”
Yoongi hums, no sympathy in his voice, “enjoy, bye!”
“Only?!” Jungkook gets up from the bed, “only?! It's damn 730 days!”
Yoongi hums, no sympathy in his voice, “enjoy, bye!”
Jungkook walks out of the room to see the man in the living room. The private college Jungkook studies in, has the biggest dorm he has ever seen. It feels more like a two-bedroom apartment than a dorm.
Jungkook stares at the man who is in the kitchen, making himself breakfast.
Jungkook stares at the man who is in the kitchen, making himself breakfast.
He scoffs when he sees the toasts and beans, “is that English breakfast?”
Taehyung flinches, looking up as if he finally notices Jungkook, “oh, lord,” he sighs, “you scared me.”
“Oh, lord?” Jungkook repeats, cringes at the words, “which century are you living in, bro?”
Taehyung flinches, looking up as if he finally notices Jungkook, “oh, lord,” he sighs, “you scared me.”
“Oh, lord?” Jungkook repeats, cringes at the words, “which century are you living in, bro?”
Taehyung's jaw ticks, “did you just call me bro?”
Jungkook shrugs, “did you just say, oh, lord?”
Taehyung breathes in deeply, forcing a smile on his lips, “I did.”
Jungkook shrugs, “I also did.”
They stare at each other, not sure why none of them would break the eye contact.
Jungkook shrugs, “did you just say, oh, lord?”
Taehyung breathes in deeply, forcing a smile on his lips, “I did.”
Jungkook shrugs, “I also did.”
They stare at each other, not sure why none of them would break the eye contact.
Taehyung looks away first, “the kitchen is for the two of us. So is the living room. I bought the TV, so it's mine. If you want to share it, you have to pay half of the bills and don't even try to open my Netflix-”
“I don't know your password,” Jungkook shrugs, “I have my own.”
“I don't know your password,” Jungkook shrugs, “I have my own.”
Taehyung nods, “good. I play piano. I am learning from Yoongi hyung. I know a few instruments that I play. I hope they don't bother you.”
Jungkook hums, coming to sit on the stool by the kitchen counter, “well, I have my drums and guitar. So, that's that. We are fine, I guess.”
Jungkook hums, coming to sit on the stool by the kitchen counter, “well, I have my drums and guitar. So, that's that. We are fine, I guess.”
Except, they are not fine. Not fine at all.
Not when Taehyung starts to 'practice' his piano at night. Around three in the morning. Not when Jungkook came home from a crazy party and now he is drunk, and that damn piano is getting to his nerves. He curses, sitting up on the bed.
Not when Taehyung starts to 'practice' his piano at night. Around three in the morning. Not when Jungkook came home from a crazy party and now he is drunk, and that damn piano is getting to his nerves. He curses, sitting up on the bed.
“Will you keep it down?!” Jungkook thunders, storming out of the room, “it's bloody midnight!”
Taehyung flinches in his seat, eyes furrowing when he notices Jungkook, “oh, Jesus! You scared me!”
Jungkook laughs, “I did?! Good! Keep it down! I just got back home! I need sleep!”
Taehyung flinches in his seat, eyes furrowing when he notices Jungkook, “oh, Jesus! You scared me!”
Jungkook laughs, “I did?! Good! Keep it down! I just got back home! I need sleep!”
Taehyung's shocked expression turns sour pretty quickly, he glares at Jungkook.
“Well, my inspiration hits me around this time-”
“If you don't stop right about now, something else will hit you around this time too!” Jungkook points a finger, “my damn drum stick! I swear, Kim!”
“Well, my inspiration hits me around this time-”
“If you don't stop right about now, something else will hit you around this time too!” Jungkook points a finger, “my damn drum stick! I swear, Kim!”
Taehyung slams his hands down on the keys, making the piano cry out, and Jungkook flinches as it hits him in his hungover brain.
“Crap!” Jungkook curses, “keep it down, Kim! It's damn midnight!”
Taehyung shrugs, jamming his fingers on the keys, “and?!”
Jungkook curses, “shit!”
“Crap!” Jungkook curses, “keep it down, Kim! It's damn midnight!”
Taehyung shrugs, jamming his fingers on the keys, “and?!”
Jungkook curses, “shit!”
“Fine, you know what?! You are a spoilt kid, but I am mature!” Jungkook waves his hands wildly, “but, now watch me!”
Taehyung arches a brow, “oh? What are you going to do?! Bro?!”
Jungkook storms over to his side of the apartment, sits in front of his drums, “oh, let's see!”
Taehyung arches a brow, “oh? What are you going to do?! Bro?!”
Jungkook storms over to his side of the apartment, sits in front of his drums, “oh, let's see!”
Taehyung flinches when Jungkook starts to play the drums. Out of tune and with no mind of his in the play. Taehyung goes back to his piano too, his fingers jamming the keys mindlessly and hoping the sound overpowers the sound of the drums.
That's how they end up in front of the general secretary of the college.
Jung Hoseok.
“You two woke up the entire building while playing piano and drums and shouting at each other,” Hoseok rubs his temple, “mind telling me what the f'ck were you thinking?!”
Jung Hoseok.
“You two woke up the entire building while playing piano and drums and shouting at each other,” Hoseok rubs his temple, “mind telling me what the f'ck were you thinking?!”
“It's not my fault,” Taehyung leans over the table, urges, “see, I am living there for the last two years! I got no complaints. Now, he came to live here for a week, and we are having a problem. Do you not see what's going on?! He is trouble, hyung!”
Jungkook blinks, “sorry?!”
Jungkook blinks, “sorry?!”
“He is a terrible roommate!” Jungkook points at Taehyung, “he acts like those 19th century lords who somehow ended up in this century on a time machine that forgot to take him back to his time. He is so obnoxious and pretentious. He started playing the piano at midnight, hyung!”
“Also?” Jungkook laughs at Taehyung, “if you are so good, why did your roommate leave?!”
“Because he moved in with his boyfriend who is your friend Min Yoongi and you know it!” Taehyung throws his hands up, “hyung,” he begs Hoseok, “I did nothing wrong! He was at faul-”
“Because he moved in with his boyfriend who is your friend Min Yoongi and you know it!” Taehyung throws his hands up, “hyung,” he begs Hoseok, “I did nothing wrong! He was at faul-”
“I was in the middle of sex,” Hoseok glares at them, “and, I got so scared of the loud noise that you two created, I lost my boner!” he slams his hands on the table, “do you even know how humiliating it was?!”
Taehyung and Jungkook snap their mouths closed. Biting back a laugh.
Taehyung and Jungkook snap their mouths closed. Biting back a laugh.
“Jin will never go out with me again!” Hoseok wails almost, “years! It took me years to get him to go out with me, and my d'ck game failed because of you two!”
Taehyung sighs, “my piano would have helped. You know?” he makes a sympathetic face, “being romantic and all that.”
Taehyung sighs, “my piano would have helped. You know?” he makes a sympathetic face, “being romantic and all that.”
Hoseok waves his hand, “it was a little fast-paced. He likes it rough, fast.”
“See?!” Jungkook slams his hands down, “my drums would have helped! It was fast and rough!”
Taehyung glares at him, “yeah, because of people like you, romance is dead! What's wrong with making love?”
“See?!” Jungkook slams his hands down, “my drums would have helped! It was fast and rough!”
Taehyung glares at him, “yeah, because of people like you, romance is dead! What's wrong with making love?”
“Nothing's wrong with making love except, no one has used that phrase for a century now, grandpa!” Jungkook rolls his eyes.
Taehyung whips around to face Hoseok, “are you watching him verbally insult me?!”
“Are you watching him defying the of truth?!” Jungkook arches a brow.
Taehyung whips around to face Hoseok, “are you watching him verbally insult me?!”
“Are you watching him defying the of truth?!” Jungkook arches a brow.
Hoseok looks a little green to the face, “listen, kiddos,” he glares at the two of them, “do whatever you want, kill each other in there, I don't care. Just keep it silent. Yeah? I lost years' worth of boners by just being here and listening to this! Get out! Right now!”
Taehyung storms out of the room, followed by an equally fuelled Jungkook. As they get inside the elevator, Taehyung punches in the button and Jungkook punches the button too, just out of spite.
“You are such a kid!” Taehyung hisses.
Jungkook makes a face, “sorry, grandpa!”
“You are such a kid!” Taehyung hisses.
Jungkook makes a face, “sorry, grandpa!”
Jungkook blinks when Taehyung pulls out a pocket-watch to see the time.
“Are you real?!” Jungkook curses, “who even carries this shit?!”
Taehyung does not spare him a glance, “I do! I like the feel of it!”
Jungkook rubs his temple, “you sure, you are not from a time machine?”
“Are you real?!” Jungkook curses, “who even carries this shit?!”
Taehyung does not spare him a glance, “I do! I like the feel of it!”
Jungkook rubs his temple, “you sure, you are not from a time machine?”
Taehyung does not answer him. Jungkook slumps against the elevator, looking at the numbers.
“We need to have some ground rules, it seems,” Taehyung says when they walk inside the dorm, “no shouting or high noises. How about we keep on our sides of the dorm? Don't interact?”
“We need to have some ground rules, it seems,” Taehyung says when they walk inside the dorm, “no shouting or high noises. How about we keep on our sides of the dorm? Don't interact?”
“No Jazz music in ass o'clock of the day,” Jungkook points a finger at Taehyung, “keep the volume down!”
Taehyung glares, “no funky poop songs while dancing in the middle of the living room! Use headphones!”
“Did you just call it poop songs?” Jungkook's jaw ticks, “grandpa?”
Taehyung glares, “no funky poop songs while dancing in the middle of the living room! Use headphones!”
“Did you just call it poop songs?” Jungkook's jaw ticks, “grandpa?”
Taehyung shrugs, “well, I am a fan of very genre, along with pop. What you play is surely not pop. It's poop. So, yes. I did call it that.”
Jungkook inhales deeply, “well, people always see or judge things as they, themselves, are. If it sounded like poop to you...” he smirks.

🎄
After that day, there is a clear border between them and their space. Taehyung makes a schedule and hangs it on the bulletin board he brought home one day. They communicate through messages on that board that hangs on the back of the door.
'Buy milk this week. I got the bread, and you stole my milk!' — TH
'You produce milk?!' — JJK
'Don't make me go to your room and kick your arse!' — TH
'Kick my 'arse,' bro?! Just say ass!' — JJK
'Don't leave yours dishes on the sink!' — TH
'LEARN TO COOK!' — JJK

'LEARN TO COOK!' — JJK
The board is nothing but them shouting at each other without making noise. If Taehyung gets too angry, he slams the door of his bedroom twice. Jungkook gets the point.
Whatever he is doing, he needs to tone it down.
When Jungkook gets angry, he puts too much salt in their food.

When Jungkook gets angry, he puts too much salt in their food.
Jungkook practices his dance routines in the living room with his headphones on. Taehyung sits on the couch and studies. Or, some days, he plays the piano.
Some evenings, Jungkook comes home to Taehyung in the kitchen, trying to cook or bake something and utterly failing.
Some evenings, Jungkook comes home to Taehyung in the kitchen, trying to cook or bake something and utterly failing.
'I'll come home late tonight, I have a party!' Jungkook writes on the board and walks out of the dorm.
Jungkook comes home around midnight, and as he pushes the keys in the lock, he hears Taehyung playing the piano. It is an eerie piece, somewhat haunting. Jungkook sighs.

“It's four in the morning,” Jungkook walks inside the living room, eyes on the man who is looking at him now, “why are you up still?”
Taehyung shrugs, looking down at the keys, “I have insomnia,” he murmurs, “playing the piano soothes me, helps me sleep.”
Taehyung shrugs, looking down at the keys, “I have insomnia,” he murmurs, “playing the piano soothes me, helps me sleep.”
Jungkook stands where he is, “you haven't played it at night since our fight.”
Taehyung nods, “I know.”
Jungkook gulps, “how did you sleep?”
Taehyung looks tired, a little messy with his mop of curls and hunched shoulders, “mostly didn't.”
Jungkook feels a little breathless.
Taehyung nods, “I know.”

Jungkook feels a little breathless.
“I will get some earplugs,” Jungkook looks away when Taehyung looks up, shrugs, “you can,” he waves his hand, “yeah. Continue.”
He walks inside his room, closing the door softly. As he comes back from the shower and gets on the bed, he hears Taehyung playing. A soft melody.

Taehyung comes home from the college to see an envelope at the foot of his bedroom door.
'To help you sleep a little easier, grandpa,' it says.
Taehyung opens it to see a cassette, he frowns. With a sigh, he walks inside and pulls out his cassette player to tuck it in and play.

Taehyung opens it to see a cassette, he frowns. With a sigh, he walks inside and pulls out his cassette player to tuck it in and play.
He plugs the earbuds in and closes his eyes when a soft tune fills his ears. It's a piano piece and the melody is soothing. Taehyung lies down on the bed, eyes on the ceiling. Something warm courses through him as he listens to each one of those pieces in there.
Jungkook comes home to a tray full of baked cookies. A note stuck on one of them.
'Thanks.'
Jungkook smiles at the note, looks at the closed door. He picks up two cookies and shoves the note in his pocket as he goes into his room.
“You are welcome,” he murmurs to himself.
'Thanks.'

It's a Saturday evening and Jungkook is by the television. He sighs when the doorbell rings. After pausing the screen, he goes to open it to a man standing there, with a single white daisy in his hand.
“Hi,” the guy smiles at him, “I am here for Taehyung.”
Jungkook lets him in.
“Hi,” the guy smiles at him, “I am here for Taehyung.”
Jungkook lets him in.
The guy then turns to Jungkook, “your roommate?”
Taehyung nods, “Jungkook. Jungkook, this is Park Bogum. My senior and friend from college.”
Bogum nudges him, “friend?”
Taehyung's cheeks flush a little under that gaze. He shrugs.
Jungkook smiles, “hi. Nice to meet you.”

“I will not come home tonight,” Taehyung looks at Jungkook, “you can leave the dishes. I will do them tomorrow.”
“Don't worry,” Jungkook waves his hands, “enjoy your date.”
Taehyung opens his mouth to say something, but Bogum smiles, “thanks.”
Jungkook watches them leave.

Jungkook leaves for college the next day and Taehyung is not home. He leaves a message on the board.
'Made some pancakes, grandpa, don't burn yourself trying to make breakfast. Eat those.'
He comes home to washed dishes and a slice of cake.
'The pancakes were good.'

“How is your roommate?” Yoongi asks, both of them walking down the corridor of the college, “getting along?”
Jungkook shrugs, “well, we keep it to ourselves. Hobi hyung told us we are doing much better. He got another date with Seokjin hyung. How is your roommate?”
Jungkook shrugs, “well, we keep it to ourselves. Hobi hyung told us we are doing much better. He got another date with Seokjin hyung. How is your roommate?”
“He is my boyfriend,” Yoongi chuckles, “he is fine.”
Jungkook looks over and sees Taehyung coming down the corridor with Bogum beside him. They are holding hands. Smiles wide on their lips. Jungkook smiles.
“He looks good when he smiles,” Jungkook murmurs, “I think.”

“He looks good when he smiles,” Jungkook murmurs, “I think.”
Yoongi's eyes are observant, “he does?”
Jungkook nods, watching Taehyung press closer to Bogum, “he does.”
Yoongi looks at Taehyung, “he is wearing more formal clothes than I am. And, I am here to teach a class.”
Jungkook laughs, “well, you teach music. So, you are fine.”
Jungkook nods, watching Taehyung press closer to Bogum, “he does.”
Yoongi looks at Taehyung, “he is wearing more formal clothes than I am. And, I am here to teach a class.”
Jungkook laughs, “well, you teach music. So, you are fine.”
Taehyung finally notices them, and Jungkook gives him a small nod. Taehyung nods back, eyes following him as they cross each other.
Jungkook looks over his shoulder to see Taehyung take the turn towards the café. He looks ahead and Yoongi is watching him.
“What?” Jungkook asks.
Jungkook looks over his shoulder to see Taehyung take the turn towards the café. He looks ahead and Yoongi is watching him.
“What?” Jungkook asks.
Yoongi shakes his head, “nothing.”
Jungkook drops it when his phone starts to ring, and it's Jimin. He winces, picking up the call.
“Yes, yes, dance practice, I remember,” he hurries his steps, “I will be right there.”
Yoongi pats his back, “all the best.”
Jungkook runs.

🎄
Jungkook dances and watches Taehyung come out of his bedroom to sit on the couch. The man pulls his knees up and hugs them. His chin resting on them. Jungkook watches how Taehyung does not go to make himself his strawberry smoothie like every day. He just sits there, in silence.
Jungkook wipes his sweat with his towel and goes to his room. He comes out after showering and dressing up for college. He stops by the door when he sees Taehyung. Still sitting there and watching the closed television.
Jungkook walks around the man to go to the door to leave.
Jungkook walks around the man to go to the door to leave.
He curses himself when he turns around to walk over to Taehyung.
“What's wrong?” Jungkook sighs, “you look like a kicked puppy right now.”
Taehyung looks up at him, large eyes a little startled, “I,” he looks down again, “I am fine.”
Jungkook arches a brow, “tell me!”
“What's wrong?” Jungkook sighs, “you look like a kicked puppy right now.”
Taehyung looks up at him, large eyes a little startled, “I,” he looks down again, “I am fine.”
Jungkook arches a brow, “tell me!”
Taehyung shrugs, looking at his feet, “do you believe in hookups?”
Jungkook makes a face, “yeah. I do.”
Taehyung looks at him, “why?”
Jungkook blinks, “well,” he thinks, “it's convenient. You don't get the baggage of feelings and shit. Just do the deed and leave. Good.”
Jungkook makes a face, “yeah. I do.”
Taehyung looks at him, “why?”
Jungkook blinks, “well,” he thinks, “it's convenient. You don't get the baggage of feelings and shit. Just do the deed and leave. Good.”
Taehyung sucks his lower lip in his mouth, “so, you don't believe in feelings or love before being physical?”
Jungkook shakes his head, “why? You-” he looks at the book on the tea-table, a chuckle leaves his lips, “you are reading, 'Pride and Prejudice. You believe in feelings.”
Jungkook shakes his head, “why? You-” he looks at the book on the tea-table, a chuckle leaves his lips, “you are reading, 'Pride and Prejudice. You believe in feelings.”
Taehyung kind of curls in on himself, “I am weird for a guy. I know.”
Jungkook frowns, “hey!” he sits down beside Taehyung, “I did not say that. You are not weird to want that romance and classic feels. Okay? You are not.”
Taehyung shrugs, “some days I feel like just doing it.”
Jungkook frowns, “hey!” he sits down beside Taehyung, “I did not say that. You are not weird to want that romance and classic feels. Okay? You are not.”
Taehyung shrugs, “some days I feel like just doing it.”
“Like ripping off the band-aid,” Taehyung waves his hand, “done and over with.”
“You are a virgin?” Jungkook gapes.
Taehyung winces, looking away. Jungkook mentally slaps himself.
“Which is okay!” Jungkook grasps Taehyung's hand in his, ignores how Taehyung flinches, “yeah?”
“You are a virgin?” Jungkook gapes.
Taehyung winces, looking away. Jungkook mentally slaps himself.
“Which is okay!” Jungkook grasps Taehyung's hand in his, ignores how Taehyung flinches, “yeah?”
“I kissed people,” Taehyung whispers, “made out. Bogum hyung and I, we made out. But,” he frowns, “I can't take it further. Thinking of it,” he shakes his head, “I feel so uncomfortable.”
Jungkook never thought like this. He never saw sex like this. So, he listens quietly.
Jungkook never thought like this. He never saw sex like this. So, he listens quietly.
“How do you do it?” Taehyung matches Jungkook's eyes, trying not to sound so curious.
Jungkook feels endeared. It is a new feeling and it makes his chest swell. He smiles.
“Well, I never gave it much thought. It's just sex to me. Most of the time I am a little tipsy. It helps.”
Jungkook feels endeared. It is a new feeling and it makes his chest swell. He smiles.
“Well, I never gave it much thought. It's just sex to me. Most of the time I am a little tipsy. It helps.”
“So, I should be drunk for the first time-” Taehyung stops when Jungkook holds up his hand.
“No! No!” Jungkook shakes his head vehemently, “no! You are not going to be drunk and do it. No. I am just saying, in hook-ups, it mostly happens for me in parties. So, that's that.”
“No! No!” Jungkook shakes his head vehemently, “no! You are not going to be drunk and do it. No. I am just saying, in hook-ups, it mostly happens for me in parties. So, that's that.”
Taehyung nods, all serious and thoughtful, “does it not bother you? The thought that what if one of them has an STD?”
Jungkook blinks, “well…”
Taehyung is blinking at him, “do you ask them of that beforehand?”
Jungkook blinks some more, “no one does that, Taehyung!”
Jungkook blinks, “well…”
Taehyung is blinking at him, “do you ask them of that beforehand?”
Jungkook blinks some more, “no one does that, Taehyung!”
“So you just trust a complete stranger with that?” Taehyung wonders, eyes wide, “really?”
Jungkook winces, “when you say it like that, it sounds really stupid. I know.”
Taehyung's lips twitch, “you are stupid. So, it suits you.”
“Hey!” Jungkook protests, “I am trying to help!”
Jungkook winces, “when you say it like that, it sounds really stupid. I know.”
Taehyung's lips twitch, “you are stupid. So, it suits you.”
“Hey!” Jungkook protests, “I am trying to help!”
“Just,” Jungkook lets out a deep breath, “tell your boyfriend to take it slow. I am sure he will understand-”
“He is not my boyfriend,” Taehyung shakes his head, eyes on the book on the tea-table, “we went on a few dates. But, we are not there. Not boyfriends.”
“He is not my boyfriend,” Taehyung shakes his head, eyes on the book on the tea-table, “we went on a few dates. But, we are not there. Not boyfriends.”
“I see,” Jungkook nods, “okay. Just, whatever he is, just discuss this with him, and I am sure he will understand.”
Taehyung lets out a long breath, “you think?”
Jungkook gives Taehyung a small smile, “he will. And if he doesn't, let him go. You are worth your dreams, Tae.”
Taehyung lets out a long breath, “you think?”
Jungkook gives Taehyung a small smile, “he will. And if he doesn't, let him go. You are worth your dreams, Tae.”
Taehyung gives him a slow smile and Jungkook watches, breathless, how it spreads over the man's face.
Taehyung has a boxy smile. Jungkook realizes it that day.
He would love to receive it again, he finds himself thinking.
Taehyung has a boxy smile. Jungkook realizes it that day.
He would love to receive it again, he finds himself thinking.
There is a calm that settles after that day between the two of them. They start to greet each other every morning. Jungkook starts to cook breakfast for Taehyung. Silently leaving the plate on the counter. Taehyung starts to make an extra glass of smoothie for Jungkook.
One night, Jungkook comes home to Taehyung watching Pride and Prejudice on the television. Taehyung lurches for the remote, ready to turn it off. Jungkook laughs, waves his hands.
“Watch it,” he shrugs, “I will make us some dinner. Are you hungry?”
Taehyung blinks, “yeah?”
“Watch it,” he shrugs, “I will make us some dinner. Are you hungry?”
Taehyung blinks, “yeah?”
Jungkook hums, “okay.”
He goes to make them some pasta while Taehyung watches the movie. Jungkook keeps stealing glances at the man who is wrapped in a blanket and curled up on the couch while he watches the movie with starry eyes. Jungkook feels warm without a blanket.

He carries the plates and two cans of sodas to the table. They sit side by side and Jungkook holds out a plate for Taehyung.
Taehyung nods in thanks and takes it, eating it with the fork, “it's yum!”
Jungkook chuckles, “thanks.”
They both go back to focus on the film.

Jungkook does not say anything when Taehyung shrugs off the blanket on his side. Jungkook silently pulls the blanket around himself, squirming closer to the man. Taehyung holds still, eating slowly.
Jungkook finds himself eating in a sloth's pace. Knowingly.
Jungkook finds himself eating in a sloth's pace. Knowingly.
He knows the moment he is done, he has to get up and leave. He does not want to. Turns out, he really likes the movie.
Taehyung is eating one pasta at a time and Jungkook matches the pace. Both of them sneaking glances at each other. Then, their eyes meet, between those glances.

They both give each other a small smile and go back to watching the movie.
Jungkook hears a sigh come from Taehyung as the screen shows Mr. Darcy, standing there, drenched, confessing his love.
Jungkook feels his heart skip a beat when Taehyung smiles at the screen.

Jungkook feels his heart skip a beat when Taehyung smiles at the screen.
His eyes stay glued on Taehyung throughout the rest of the movie.
'I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love--I love--I love you.' Mr. Darcy's voice echoes in the living room and Taehyung hugs his pillow a little tighter.
Jungkook feels nauseous.

'I like him,' Jungkook thinks to himself, his stomach flipping, 'shit, I like him!'
The realization is so sudden and so strong, it makes him lean back against the couch, eyes on the screen. He does not see anything, his mind racing and his heart feeling heavy all of a sudden.

Jungkook races back to his memory, trying to pin point exactly what happened for him to like Taehyung. Exactly when his feelings took this turn. So, maybe he can turn back on that crossroad and go back to feeling nothing.
There is no particular moment. There is no dramatic turn.
There is no particular moment. There is no dramatic turn.
In these past six months, it somehow grew on him. This feeling. Jungkook always thought a crush or liking someone starts from a moment. An exact moment. Like it happened with Namjoon. One day he saw Namjoon at Yoongi's place, freshly out of shower, looking so gorgeous…
One look at those muscles and those thighs, Jungkook was gone. He had a crush. He can still pinpoint that exact moment.
Here he can't. He can't find what was that turning point. Was it when Taehyung plays the piano? Looking so soft in his nightwear and with his messy curls?
Here he can't. He can't find what was that turning point. Was it when Taehyung plays the piano? Looking so soft in his nightwear and with his messy curls?
Or, was it when Taehyung made him those overly sweet smoothies? Maybe it was when Taehyung baked those cookies for him. Or, washed his dishes without even needing Jungkook to say it to him.
Jungkook looks at Taehyung.
Or, maybe by simply existing. Jungkook is not sure.
Jungkook looks at Taehyung.
Or, maybe by simply existing. Jungkook is not sure.
'He has someone he is trying to get laid with,' his mind supplies, 'get your shit together, man!'
Jungkook winces, getting up from the couch, “I will go to sleep.”
Taehyung blinks, “but, there's only one scene left.”
Jungkook shrugs, “I am tired, Taehyung. Good night.”
Jungkook winces, getting up from the couch, “I will go to sleep.”
Taehyung blinks, “but, there's only one scene left.”
Jungkook shrugs, “I am tired, Taehyung. Good night.”
Jungkook rushes to his room, closing the door behind himself.
“I will keep my distance,” Jungkook talks to himself, face-planting himself on the mattress, “I will get over this crush. I will go and ask Joon hyung out! Yes! He will reject me, and that pain will override this!”
“I will keep my distance,” Jungkook talks to himself, face-planting himself on the mattress, “I will get over this crush. I will go and ask Joon hyung out! Yes! He will reject me, and that pain will override this!”
“You love me, and you want me to reject you,” Namjoon blinks, a little taken aback, “what...?”
Jungkook nods, “see, if you reject me, it will hurt me and that's what I need right now.”
Namjoon looks a little disturbed, “are you... are you okay, Jungkook? Do you need help?”
Jungkook nods, “see, if you reject me, it will hurt me and that's what I need right now.”
Namjoon looks a little disturbed, “are you... are you okay, Jungkook? Do you need help?”
“Be more specific, I know I need help,” Jungkook waves his hand, “but, I don't have that much money to pay for it.”
Namjoon gapes, mouth a little open, “I- I mean, you can tell me what's going on, and I can help.”
“For free?” Jungkook arches a brow.
Namjoon sighs, “yes!”
Namjoon gapes, mouth a little open, “I- I mean, you can tell me what's going on, and I can help.”
“For free?” Jungkook arches a brow.
Namjoon sighs, “yes!”
Jungkook sits down on the grass of the campus, beside Namjoon, “I think I like this guy-”
Namjoon arches a brow.
“No, another guy,” Jungkook waves his hand, “it's different. You are like, 'damn! I want those thighs wrapped around my head,' kind of.”
Namjoon winces, “god!”
Namjoon arches a brow.
“No, another guy,” Jungkook waves his hand, “it's different. You are like, 'damn! I want those thighs wrapped around my head,' kind of.”
Namjoon winces, “god!”
“And, he is like,” Jungkook lets out a deep breath, shrugging, “he is like, 'damn, I want to cuddle you, hold you to me as you fall asleep, kiss your forehead, make fun of you just to see you get flustered and then pull you in a kiss,' kind of. You know?”
Namjoon smiles, “oh?”
Namjoon smiles, “oh?”
Jungkook looks at Namjoon, “so, help me turn back to feeling nothing for him and everything for your thighs now.”
Namjoon curses, “okay, let my thighs go. Okay? I have people taking care of my thighs. Forget me. My god! Now, this guy, did you tell him? How you feel?”
Namjoon curses, “okay, let my thighs go. Okay? I have people taking care of my thighs. Forget me. My god! Now, this guy, did you tell him? How you feel?”
“You have people taking care of your thighs?” Jungkook blinks, “what, you have fanclub or something? How do I join?”
Namjoon gives him a long stare, “I have my boyfriends.”
“Boyfriends?!” Jungkook jumps, “oh, god. More than one?!”
Namjoon winces, “oh, god, keep it down!”
Namjoon gives him a long stare, “I have my boyfriends.”
“Boyfriends?!” Jungkook jumps, “oh, god. More than one?!”
Namjoon winces, “oh, god, keep it down!”
Jungkook opens his mouth to say something, but his eyes move to see Taehyung. Taehyung is walking down the path of the campus, Bogum right beside him. Bogum's arm around his shoulder and Taehyung's arm around his waist.
Jungkook's smile dims.
Namjoon blinks, “my brother?!”
Jungkook's smile dims.
Namjoon blinks, “my brother?!”
“Do you think that's why it's him?!” Jungkook slaps Namjoon's thigh, “that, in my mind, I am taking it like, if I can't have you, I will have a diluted version of you?! Your younger brother?”
Namjoon gives him an unimpressed look, “do you think he is my diluted version, kook?”
Namjoon gives him an unimpressed look, “do you think he is my diluted version, kook?”
Jungkook whines, lying down on the grass, “just tell me I am right. So I can move on. Tell me he is your diluted version and I am feeling like this because I want a version of you. He is that Walmart version of the Chanel product that you are! Tell me!”
Namjoon curses, “get up!”
Namjoon curses, “get up!”
“Except,” Jungkook murmurs, his eyes on the clouds, “he is not a Walmart version. He is a vintage collection. One you don't find nowadays. No matter how much you want to pay for it. He is like an antique you keep like a treasure. He dresses like one, he acts like one. He is one.”
Jungkook's eyes burn, “and, I am just a poor college student who can't pay that price to have him,” he looks at Namjoon, “I can't have him. He is already with someone else. Can you tell me that? Hyung? Tell me he is way out of my reach and I need to let it go. Move on.”
“I am a guy of this time, who likes those poop songs,” he chuckles, “who wears cheap clothes, who hooks up here and there. Who is not made for classics. Who never believed in classics. Our worlds don't match, and yet I am here, like a loser, hoping and daring to have him.”
Namjoon gives him a tender look, “you know, kook, vintage, antiques, all these things are valuable because we value them. If we didn't give a shit, what would they be? Nothing. Every vintage or antique needs someone who values or understands them. Like you value Tae, as I see.”
“Gold is valuable because we make it valuable,” Namjoon nods, “diamond is valuable because we gave it that place. It's us who make or break something. If you propose someone with a paper ring, and they value it more than a diamond one, then it's simply because of their feelings.”
“Our feelings matter the most,” Namjoon pulls Jungkook up to sit beside him, “in our feelings, if we are happy, Seoul can be our city of love. In our feelings, if we are happy, a small apartment can be our palace. It's all about feelings, and you have feelings for Taehyung. No?”
“If you feel like this,” Namjoon gives Jungkook a dimpled smile, “then tell him. Let him know. Treat him like the antique you think he is. If he feels the same about you, he will find you.”
“And, if he doesn't?” Jungkook asks.
Namjoon sighs, “then...”
“And, if he doesn't?” Jungkook asks.
Namjoon sighs, “then...”
“You can't really help it, can you?” Namjoon gives him a sympathetic smile, “you can't force someone to feel the same for you, kook. The best you can do is, try. If you fail, then you got to move on.”
Jungkook breathes out a chuckle, “I am honoured that you are my first crush.”
Jungkook breathes out a chuckle, “I am honoured that you are my first crush.”
Namjoon gets up with a laugh, “let's never say a thing about my thighs, though. If it works out between you two, it will be weird as f'ck to gather for family events and realize my brother's boyfriend wanted my thighs wrapped around his head!”
Jungkook giggles, “it's true!”
Jungkook giggles, “it's true!”
Jungkook gets up, following Namjoon inside the campus.
“Tell him,” Namjoon slaps his back with a dimpled smile, “let him know how you feel.”
Jungkook nods, watching Namjoon walk around the corner.
“Yeah,” he talks to himself, “I will tell him.”
“Tell him,” Namjoon slaps his back with a dimpled smile, “let him know how you feel.”
Jungkook nods, watching Namjoon walk around the corner.
“Yeah,” he talks to himself, “I will tell him.”
🎄
Jungkook comes home to Bogum and Taehyung on the couch. Taehyung leaning against the hand-rest and Bogum all over him as they makeout.
Jungkook blinks, not sure if the two of them heard him walk in. He closes the door and that sound makes them both jump, looking over at him.
Jungkook blinks, not sure if the two of them heard him walk in. He closes the door and that sound makes them both jump, looking over at him.
Jungkook tries to smile, a little awkward, “sorry,” he winces at his own voice, “please, don't stop on my account. I will be in my room.”
He rushes inside his room, closing the door behind himself. With a sigh, Jungkook chuckles to himself, rubbing his hands down his face.
He rushes inside his room, closing the door behind himself. With a sigh, Jungkook chuckles to himself, rubbing his hands down his face.
He goes to shower, wash away the day's worth of grim and tiredness. When he comes back, he is not sure if the two are still outside. So he spends the evening in his room.
The knock on his door makes him look up, “yeah?”
Taehyung peeks through the gap, “dinner?”
The knock on his door makes him look up, “yeah?”
Taehyung peeks through the gap, “dinner?”
Jungkook nods, “I am making it or?”
Taehyung looks a little confused, “do you want me to do it?”
Jungkook blinks, “no, I mean, I thought you two would want to order in or,” he gets up, “am I making dinner for the two of you?”
Taehyung shakes his head, “no! He is gone.”
Taehyung looks a little confused, “do you want me to do it?”
Jungkook blinks, “no, I mean, I thought you two would want to order in or,” he gets up, “am I making dinner for the two of you?”
Taehyung shakes his head, “no! He is gone.”
Jungkook goes to the door, “he left? You didn't ask him to stay for dinner?”
Taehyung shakes his head, “he has classes tomorrow. Early in the morning.”
Jungkook arches a brow, going around Taehyung, “so eating your face filled him up, then?”
Taehyung elbows him, “shut up!”
Taehyung shakes his head, “he has classes tomorrow. Early in the morning.”
Jungkook arches a brow, going around Taehyung, “so eating your face filled him up, then?”
Taehyung elbows him, “shut up!”
Taehyung follows him in the kitchen and Jungkook starts with the dinner preparation. He holds out the veggies from the fridge, and Taehyung takes them from him to drop on the counter. Jungkook starts the oven and Taehyung washes the utensils for him.
“We talked about it,” Taehyung leans against the counter while Jungkook pours some water in a pot, “I think,” Taehyung watches Jungkook work, “I think we will do it on Christmas.”
Jungkook focuses on the pot, turning the oven on its highest heat, “good. Communication. Good.”
Jungkook focuses on the pot, turning the oven on its highest heat, “good. Communication. Good.”
Taehyung bites his lower lip, looking a little tensed, “do you think I am doing right? I mean,” he shrugs, “I have waited long enough. You know?”
Jungkook looks at Taehyung with a soft smile, “if it feels right, it's right, grandpa.”
Taehyung turns his face away, “right.”
Jungkook looks at Taehyung with a soft smile, “if it feels right, it's right, grandpa.”
Taehyung turns his face away, “right.”
Jungkook frowns, “hey? What's wrong?”
Taehyung lets out a deep breath, “I feel so overwhelmed, and I don't have many friends who understand, you know?” his wide find Jungkook, worry clear in them, “they laugh at me for my questions. Tell me to watch porn. I don't know.”
Taehyung lets out a deep breath, “I feel so overwhelmed, and I don't have many friends who understand, you know?” his wide find Jungkook, worry clear in them, “they laugh at me for my questions. Tell me to watch porn. I don't know.”
Jungkook is not sure where this protectiveness comes from, but it does, and he is reaching out to hold Taehyung's hand in his.
“You can ask me,” he smiles, “I might laugh, but I won't really laugh to look down on you. I swear. Also, porn is not the way to go. Trust me.”
“You can ask me,” he smiles, “I might laugh, but I won't really laugh to look down on you. I swear. Also, porn is not the way to go. Trust me.”
Taehyung sucks in a deep breath, “does it hurt?”
Jungkook makes a sympathetic smile, “if you are on the receiving end, well, for the first time... it will. A little.”
Taehyung goes pale, nodding, “o-oh. Okay.”
“Hey,” Jungkook waves his hand, “you can start with your fingers.”
Jungkook makes a sympathetic smile, “if you are on the receiving end, well, for the first time... it will. A little.”
Taehyung goes pale, nodding, “o-oh. Okay.”
“Hey,” Jungkook waves his hand, “you can start with your fingers.”
Taehyung's cheeks are heating up as he shrugs, “I know. I mean, I think it will always hurt. I mean, something is going up your arse, it is normal to, you know,” he waves his hands.
Jungkook smiles, “well, that's why, start with your fingers. You did that before?”
Jungkook smiles, “well, that's why, start with your fingers. You did that before?”
Taehyung nods, “yes.”
Jungkook grips the edge of the counter, “well, then. You can do that to him, or he can do that to you-”
“Do I shave?” Taehyung looks away, “you know...”
Jungkook looks at the boiling water, “that's on your preference or his. I can't decide for you two.”
Jungkook grips the edge of the counter, “well, then. You can do that to him, or he can do that to you-”
“Do I shave?” Taehyung looks away, “you know...”
Jungkook looks at the boiling water, “that's on your preference or his. I can't decide for you two.”
Taehyung looks at the water as Jungkook adds the noodles to it, “okay,” he looks lost in thoughts, “okay.”
Jungkook looks at the man and chuckles, “hey, he will be there to guide you through it. You can stop any moment you feel awkward. Just tell him and he will stop. Yeah?”
Jungkook looks at the man and chuckles, “hey, he will be there to guide you through it. You can stop any moment you feel awkward. Just tell him and he will stop. Yeah?”
“I just don't know how to start, you know?” Taehyung bends over the counter, his face on his hands, “I just imagine myself naked and in front of him, for his eyes, and I just cringe. How,” he combs his hair back, “how do you get used to someone seeing you naked like that?”
Jungkook shrugs, “well, you will be otherwise occupied,” he winks at Taehyung, “making out and all, at that moment, no one cares, really. Also, you have nothing to worry about. You are breathtaking.”
Taehyung looks at him, “what?”
Jungkook shrugs, “you. You are handsome.”
Taehyung looks at him, “what?”
Jungkook shrugs, “you. You are handsome.”
“He will be having a hard time, trust me,” Jungkook nudges Taehyung's side, “seeing you so intimately,” Jungkook hums, “you have nothing to worry about.”
Taehyung is watching him, “right,” he looks at the pot then, “right.”
Jungkook stirs the noodles, “don't worry so much.”
Taehyung is watching him, “right,” he looks at the pot then, “right.”
Jungkook stirs the noodles, “don't worry so much.”
“Are you going home for Christmas?” Taehyung asks next.
Jungkook laughs, “no. My parents are going to visit my elder brother in his new home. I will go for the new year,” he looks at Taehyung, “but don't worry. I won't disturb you two here. I have party invitations already.”
Jungkook laughs, “no. My parents are going to visit my elder brother in his new home. I will go for the new year,” he looks at Taehyung, “but don't worry. I won't disturb you two here. I have party invitations already.”
Taehyung looks a little flustered, “no! No. I didn't mean it like that. I,” he shakes his head, “I will be at his place for the night. You can stay here. No worries.”
Jungkook hums, “oh. Cool, then.”
Taehyung bites the inside of his cheek, “yeah.”
Jungkook hums, “oh. Cool, then.”
Taehyung bites the inside of his cheek, “yeah.”
They don't talk much after that. Both of them a little lost in their own thoughts. After dinner, Jungkook comes to his room, closes the door and lies down on the bed.
He smiles at the ceiling, letting out a tired breath, “one day, you will get over it, kook,” he closes his eyes.
He smiles at the ceiling, letting out a tired breath, “one day, you will get over it, kook,” he closes his eyes.
🎄
“Are you serious?” Jungkook asks, eyes wide open, as he stares at the ceiling long tree that sits in the middle of the living room, “what is this?!”
Taehyung peeks around the tree at him, “help me position it?”
Jungkook blinks, “Tae, this is a huge tree!”
Taehyung hums, “yes!”
Taehyung peeks around the tree at him, “help me position it?”
Jungkook blinks, “Tae, this is a huge tree!”
Taehyung hums, “yes!”
“I know, it is,” Taehyung sounds stressed, “but, help me move it! I can't do it alone!”
“Who asked you to buy this giant?” Jungkook hurries over to grab at it, “where to?”
Taehyung nudges on the other side, “by the window. It will look good with the lights and snow outside.”
“Who asked you to buy this giant?” Jungkook hurries over to grab at it, “where to?”
Taehyung nudges on the other side, “by the window. It will look good with the lights and snow outside.”
They both carry it over to the window and come around to stare at it.
“I got everything to decorate it,” Taehyung grins, “it will be fun!”
Jungkook nods, “cool. Enjoy your fun, then. I will be going.”
Taehyung reaches to grab his wrist, “but, it's Sunday! Help me decorate?”
“I got everything to decorate it,” Taehyung grins, “it will be fun!”
Jungkook nods, “cool. Enjoy your fun, then. I will be going.”
Taehyung reaches to grab his wrist, “but, it's Sunday! Help me decorate?”
Jungkook is coming to realize he is a little defenseless around those puppy eyes. He sighs, nods and grabs the packets of decoration.
Taehyung gets on a stool, wrapping those lights around the tree. Jungkook hangs those balls and trinkets on the tree as he goes.
Taehyung gets on a stool, wrapping those lights around the tree. Jungkook hangs those balls and trinkets on the tree as he goes.
Taehyung looks at the tree, “something is missing.”
Jungkook frowns, “what? I think it's perfect!”
Taehyung frowns, “we should get some snow on the tree. No?”
Jungkook blinks, “you realize it will melt, right?”
Taehyung rolls his eyes, “not actual snow, idiot!”
Jungkook frowns, “what? I think it's perfect!”
Taehyung frowns, “we should get some snow on the tree. No?”
Jungkook blinks, “you realize it will melt, right?”
Taehyung rolls his eyes, “not actual snow, idiot!”
Jungkook makes a face, “you have it here?”
Taehyung looks at him, “we can go out and buy, you know?”
Jungkook curses, “you are so high maintenance. Just go with whatever you have here. Who cares? It looks good either way.”
Taehyung pouts, “come on. Fulfil your grandpa's wish!”
Taehyung looks at him, “we can go out and buy, you know?”
Jungkook curses, “you are so high maintenance. Just go with whatever you have here. Who cares? It looks good either way.”
Taehyung pouts, “come on. Fulfil your grandpa's wish!”
That's how they end up in the mall, walking around the floors aimlessly after they buy two cans of snow. Taehyung drags Jungkook here and there. Jungkook follows.
“What are you wearing tonight?” Jungkook asks, “for the first night?”
Taehyung shrugs, “a suit.”
Jungkook laughs.
“What are you wearing tonight?” Jungkook asks, “for the first night?”
Taehyung shrugs, “a suit.”
Jungkook laughs.
“Or, you can wear something casual for the first time? Eh?” Jungkook takes a hold of Taehyung's wrist and drags him to a store, “maybe something fancy but casual. To not look so constipated and old all the time.”
Taehyung frowns, “I look like that?”
Jungkook laughs, “yes.”
Taehyung frowns, “I look like that?”
Jungkook laughs, “yes.”
“How do I look?” Taehyung asks, wearing a high-neck black top with a long black coat, “good?”
He looks breathtaking. Jungkook says that much.
“You look stunning,” his breath caught in his chest, “but, maybe something in white for the wintry theme?”
He looks breathtaking. Jungkook says that much.
“You look stunning,” his breath caught in his chest, “but, maybe something in white for the wintry theme?”
Taehyung watches Jungkook, “what are your plans tonight?”
Jungkook thinks, shrugs, “well, nothing major. Getting wasted and hooking up, if I find someone.”
Taehyung's smile dims, “be careful.”
Jungkook reaches out to hold Taehyung's hand in his, “yeah, grandpa.”
Jungkook thinks, shrugs, “well, nothing major. Getting wasted and hooking up, if I find someone.”
Taehyung's smile dims, “be careful.”
Jungkook reaches out to hold Taehyung's hand in his, “yeah, grandpa.”
“Would you like to have lunch with me?” Jungkook asks, coming back to the campus on his bike with Taehyung sitting behind him, “I know a good place.”
Taehyung shrugs, “sure.”
Jungkook hesitates, “it's not anything fancy. More like a roadside shop.”
Taehyung nods, “okay.”
Taehyung shrugs, “sure.”
Jungkook hesitates, “it's not anything fancy. More like a roadside shop.”
Taehyung nods, “okay.”
Jungkook watches Taehyung sit in the booth, looking around curiously. Jungkook feels a little exposed.
“The food is good, but it's not some fancy restaurant,” Jungkook eyes the menu, just to busy himself with something, “I mean, I can afford fancy, but this place is good and-”
“The food is good, but it's not some fancy restaurant,” Jungkook eyes the menu, just to busy himself with something, “I mean, I can afford fancy, but this place is good and-”
Taehyung gives him a small smile, “it smells good here.”
Jungkook blows out a breath, nodding, “yeah. Yeah, it does.”
Taehyung lets Jungkook order for the both of them, saying Jungkook would know the best things. They sit in silence for a few seconds, looking around.
Jungkook blows out a breath, nodding, “yeah. Yeah, it does.”
Taehyung lets Jungkook order for the both of them, saying Jungkook would know the best things. They sit in silence for a few seconds, looking around.
“Do you come here often?” Taehyung asks, wiping his hands with the tissues as the waiters start to serve their food, “the guy behind the counter smiled at you.”
Jungkook smiles, nodding, “yeah. I come here whenever I can. They kind of know me.”
Taehyung hums, “I see.”
Jungkook smiles, nodding, “yeah. I come here whenever I can. They kind of know me.”
Taehyung hums, “I see.”
Jungkook watches Taehyung take the first bite of his Jajangmyeon and kimchi before he goes for the Tangsuyuk. He holds his breath when Taehyung looks up at him.
“Wow,” Taehyung breathes out, “it's great!”
Jungkook lets out a breath, smiling, “I told you,” he digs in his meal.
“Wow,” Taehyung breathes out, “it's great!”
Jungkook lets out a breath, smiling, “I told you,” he digs in his meal.
Jungkook shares some of his Jajangmyeon when Taehyung finishes his and eyes Jungkook's plate. He laughs when Taehyung blushes, nodding in thanks.
“You are cute,” Jungkook blurts out, “you know?”
Taehyung flushes red, “shut up!”
Jungkook feels an ache in his chest as he smiles.
“You are cute,” Jungkook blurts out, “you know?”
Taehyung flushes red, “shut up!”
Jungkook feels an ache in his chest as he smiles.
Jungkook does not want to think about it, but he can't help himself. He can't just ignore it. He asks, even when he knows he shouldn't.
“What's the plan for the night, then?” he rests his elbows on the table, “for the two of you?”
Taehyung shrugs, “just dinner.”
“What's the plan for the night, then?” he rests his elbows on the table, “for the two of you?”
Taehyung shrugs, “just dinner.”
Jungkook hums, “somewhere fancy?”
Taehyung shrugs, “somewhere fancy.”
Jungkook looks at the way Taehyung finishes everything. He holds out the tissue for the elder to wipe his mouth before they stand up to leave.
Jungkook ignores Taehyung's protests and pays for them both.
Taehyung shrugs, “somewhere fancy.”
Jungkook looks at the way Taehyung finishes everything. He holds out the tissue for the elder to wipe his mouth before they stand up to leave.
Jungkook ignores Taehyung's protests and pays for them both.
“I got you here,” Jungkook waves his hand, “I get to pay.”
The guy behind the counter laughs, “yes, if he asked you out on the date, he should pay. You can pay the next time.”
They both still. Taehyung stares at the guy and Jungkook winces.
“We are not on a date,” he murmurs.
The guy behind the counter laughs, “yes, if he asked you out on the date, he should pay. You can pay the next time.”
They both still. Taehyung stares at the guy and Jungkook winces.
“We are not on a date,” he murmurs.
The guy, Dan, blinks, “oh? He is not your date?”
Jungkook glares at his friend, “no! He is not!”
Dan has the decency to look awkward, “I am so sorry. I just thought,” he waves his hand, “he never brings someone here, so-”
Jungkook winces, “will you hurry up? We need to leave!”
Jungkook glares at his friend, “no! He is not!”
Dan has the decency to look awkward, “I am so sorry. I just thought,” he waves his hand, “he never brings someone here, so-”
Jungkook winces, “will you hurry up? We need to leave!”
Jungkook pays and almost rushes out of the restaurant with Taehyung on his toes. He holds out the helmet for Taehyung, not matching his eyes. Taehyung wears it. There is a silence as they ride the bike.
“You go, I will just,” Jungkook drops Taehyung at the dorm, “see you later.”
“You go, I will just,” Jungkook drops Taehyung at the dorm, “see you later.”
Taehyung holds Jungkook's hand, stopping him, “thank you,” he nods when Jungkook finally looks at him, “for the lunch. I really liked it there,” his voice is a little winded, “thanks.”
Jungkook nods, shrugs, “you are welcome. Please, just... ignore what Dan said, yeah?”
Jungkook nods, shrugs, “you are welcome. Please, just... ignore what Dan said, yeah?”
Taehyung hums, “I forgot about it already. No worries.”
Jungkook watches Taehyung go, and he curses, looking at the road, he starts the bike.
---
When he gets back to the apartment, it's already dark outside. Jungkook hopes Taehyung is already out for the night.
Jungkook watches Taehyung go, and he curses, looking at the road, he starts the bike.
---
When he gets back to the apartment, it's already dark outside. Jungkook hopes Taehyung is already out for the night.
Jungkook closes the door behind himself and jumps when he sees Taehyung by the tree. He is sitting on the ground, eyes on the tree, with those two cans of snow beside him.
Taehyung looks over his shoulders at Jungkook, gives him a small smile, “hey, you are back.”
Taehyung looks over his shoulders at Jungkook, gives him a small smile, “hey, you are back.”
Jungkook steps up to the man, “you are still here...?”
Taehyung shrugs, “yeah. Was waiting for you.”
Jungkook frowns, “why?”
Taehyung picks up a can of snow, “we still need to finish up the decoration, remember?”
Jungkook stares, “Tae, you could have done that on your own.”
Taehyung shrugs, “yeah. Was waiting for you.”
Jungkook frowns, “why?”
Taehyung picks up a can of snow, “we still need to finish up the decoration, remember?”
Jungkook stares, “Tae, you could have done that on your own.”
Taehyung gets up, holding out the other can for Jungkook, “was waiting for my annoying roommate.”
Jungkook's lips twitch, “annoying, huh?”
Taehyung hums, “yeah. So annoying.”
Jungkook opens the can of the snow and sprays it, “for this?”
Taehyung flinches, “Jungkook! Don't!”
Jungkook's lips twitch, “annoying, huh?”
Taehyung hums, “yeah. So annoying.”
Jungkook opens the can of the snow and sprays it, “for this?”
Taehyung flinches, “Jungkook! Don't!”
Jungkook laughs, spraying some more on Taehyung, “why not? I am annoying. You said so yourself!”
Taehyung laughs, holding up his can and spraying Jungkook back, “I said, stop!”
They run around the living room, chasing each other, spraying each other of the snow.
Taehyung laughs, holding up his can and spraying Jungkook back, “I said, stop!”
They run around the living room, chasing each other, spraying each other of the snow.
“Shit, don't finish the whole can on me!” Taehyung shouts, “Jungkook!”
Jungkook stops, laughing, “fine, fine.”
He goes to the tree, Taehyung following. They smile at each other, spraying the snow all over the tree as Taehyung dictates. They finish the cans on the tree.
Jungkook stops, laughing, “fine, fine.”
He goes to the tree, Taehyung following. They smile at each other, spraying the snow all over the tree as Taehyung dictates. They finish the cans on the tree.
“It feels like Christmas now, yeah?” Taehyung whispers, eyes on the tree.
Jungkook watches him, shaking his head, “not yet.”
Taehyung frowns, “what do you mean? The tree is decorated.”
Jungkook smiles, picking up the red hats and planting one on Taehyung and one on himself.
Jungkook watches him, shaking his head, “not yet.”
Taehyung frowns, “what do you mean? The tree is decorated.”
Jungkook smiles, picking up the red hats and planting one on Taehyung and one on himself.
Jungkook goes to turn the lights off of the living room, leaving the tree alight. He goes over to the music player and turns it on. When he faces Taehyung, Taehyung's eyes are gleaming with the Christmas lights, and he is watching Jungkook. Jungkook walks over to him.
“You are my Elizabeth, then?” Taehyung asks, stepping forward while Jungkook moves them side by side.
Jungkook shakes his head, the smile a little dull on his lips, “I am just a mere admirer. Your Elizabeth is the one you have a night planned with, my lord.”
Jungkook shakes his head, the smile a little dull on his lips, “I am just a mere admirer. Your Elizabeth is the one you have a night planned with, my lord.”
Taehyung does not say a word about it then. Jungkook does not either. They dance on the music. Those words washing over them. That voice echoes in the room, and Jungkook pulls Taehyung closer. Their chests pressed together, faces inches away. They are almost the same height...
So their lips are just inches away from each other. Jungkook looks at Taehyung's lips, thinking how he doesn't have to go on his toes or bend to pull Taehyung in for a kiss. Just lean in and... he twirls Taehyung, throwing the thought out of his mind. Taehyung sucks in a breath.
Jungkook pauses when Taehyung leans in, those large eyes moving from Jungkook's lips to his eyes. Jungkook does not move an inch, breath caught in his chest.
The song fades behind them, leaving behind an eerie silence, and Taehyung captures his lips in a kiss.
Jungkook freezes.

Jungkook freezes.
🎄
When Jungkook does not kiss him back, Taehyung steps away, a little flustered. His eyes downcast, long lashes brushing over his skin. Jungkook thinks he would like to kiss those eyelids, feel those lashes under his lips. But, then...
“You have a date,” Jungkook tells Taehyung.
“You have a date,” Jungkook tells Taehyung.
“You have a date tonight,” Jungkook hates how his lips tingle, where Taehyung's touch still burns.
“I am sorry,” Taehyung's voice is hoarse, “I wasn't thinking.”
Jungkook chuckles, “it's okay. Shit happens.”
Taehyung's eyes flicker to his, “yes,” they glisten, “shit happens.”

Jungkook's heart feels heavy, “it's okay.”
He is saved when there is a knock on the door. Taehyung startles, looking over at the door and back at Jungkook. Jungkook gestures for him to go and open it. He watches Bogum walk in, pulling Taehyung in a hug with a warm smile.

'Shit happens.'
Jungkook takes a step back, his eyes glued on the two of them.
'Shit happens.'
He watches how Bogum cups Taehyung's face, telling him something in a low voice that makes Taehyung smile.

Jungkook turns on his heels when Bogum leans in.

“I am in the mood for threesome!” Jimin throws his arms around Jungkook and Hoseok, “not with you two, but if I don't have any choice. Then,” he smirks, “so find me some choices.”
Jungkook makes a face, “find your own prey, god!”
They are in Hoseok's party.

Jungkook makes a face, “find your own prey, god!”
They are in Hoseok's party.
Hoseok is their senior in the dance class. His party is the best in the campus. Jungkook can see why. There are too many drinks and too many people. Jungkook sits on the couch, nursing his beer. He watches people mingle, dance against each other. The room is suffocating him.
He sees the moment Yoongi walks in, a bottle of something in his hand that he places on the liquor table. Then the man is looking around. Jungkook watches how Yoongi goes over to Seokjin, talking to him by the corner of the room.
“Pretentious prick is here,” Jimin comes around.
“Pretentious prick is here,” Jimin comes around.
Jungkook looks at his friend with raised brows, “what?”
Jimin sips his drink from the red cup, eyes on Yoongi, “that pretentious prick of a music teacher. He failed me in his class!”
Jungkook laughs, “he did?”
Jimin nods, sulking, “asshole. Thinks he is too good himself!”

Jungkook gets up, “as much as I am liking this,” he gestures for Jimin and Yoongi, “excuse me.”
“Where are you going?” Jimin grabs Jungkook's wrist, “the party just started.”
“I need some fresh air,” Jungkook ruffles Jimin's hair, laughs when Jimin protests, “see you.”

The wintry breeze outside makes Jungkook wince. He looks around to see the lights that decorate the campus. He lets out a breath, watching it come out like smoke from his mouth. He pushes his hands in his pocket and starts walking. He is not sure where he is going.
There is an ache in his chest that he does not understand, and it grows the more he walks. Jungkook does not want to bother Taehyung, but he cannot help himself. He hates himself for doing this, but he pulls his phone out and then freezes.
They never shared their numbers.
They never shared their numbers.
Jungkook lets out a delirious laugh, looking at his phone. He never gave Taehyung his number, and Taehyung never asked for it. With a sigh, he pushes the phone back in his pocket, and that's when the first snowflake touches the tip of his nose. Jungkook looks up at the sky.
Snowfalls are silent. They float around him and gather on the road, the grass, slowly turning everything white. Jungkook holds his hand out, watching the snowflakes on his glove. He watches them melt on him.
'Just like this, one day my feels will disappear too,' Jungkook thinks.
'Just like this, one day my feels will disappear too,' Jungkook thinks.
'I just have to wait it out,' Jungkook nods, 'it's just a crush. It will go away with time.'
He pushes his hands in his pockets and starts walking again. The campus is deserted. The parties are in full blast on the streets, in those clubs, pubs, but the campus is quiet.

Jungkook rounds the corner and freezes. His eyes on the man who is standing a few feet away. His face tilted upwards, eyes closed, the mask hiding half of his face, but Jungkook can see he is smiling as the snowflakes touch his face.
Jungkook's heart skips a beat.
Jungkook's heart skips a beat.
“You look like a bear,” Jungkook calls out, watches how the man flinches, looking down at him with wide, startled eyes, “like a,” Jungkook breathes out a small smile, “winter bear.”
Taehyung is quiet, and then he smiles again, “winter bear…? Is that a good look on me?”
Taehyung is quiet, and then he smiles again, “winter bear…? Is that a good look on me?”
Jungkook shakes his head, feeling a little gloomy, “there's no bad look for you. You are always the best.”
Taehyung watches him, “thank you.”
Jungkook walks up to the man, “why are you here?”
Taehyung shrugs, “coming back from the date.”
Jungkook blinks, “this soon?”

Jungkook blinks, “this soon?”
Taehyung shakes his head, “couldn't.”
Jungkook watches him, words stuck in his mouth. Taehyung gives him a small and tired smile.
“I was trying too hard to blend in, in,” he waves his hand, “your world. With people like you. Fast-paced, modern, turns out, I am not like that.”

“I was trying too hard to blend in, in,” he waves his hand, “your world. With people like you. Fast-paced, modern, turns out, I am not like that.”
“I could not lead him on,” Taehyung sounds a little hollow, “turns out, he was my miss. Bingley,” Taehyung frowns to himself, “well, not in the sense of characteristics. He is splendid, but in the sense of the story, you know?”
Jungkook blinks, “you got to be clearer than that.”
Jungkook blinks, “you got to be clearer than that.”
Taehyung chuckles, “turns out, Elizabeth in every era, comes like that in Darcy's life. Odd, different, making Darcy rethink all his life-choices,” Taehyung steps forward, eyes stuck on Jungkook's face, “turns out Darcy always starts with hating Liz's guts and then falls for it.”
“And, if I am Mr. Darcy, then,” Taehyung reaches hesitantly, grasping Jungkook's hands in his, “you are my Elizabeth. I despised you, your life choices, how you were. Just as Mr. Darcy. Then, I have no idea when, it all started to change,” Taehyung's voice cracks, “Jungkook...”
Jungkook feels winded, it's too cold around him, but his hands feel warm in Taehyung's grasp.
“Are you going to tell me that I have bewitched you body and soul?” Jungkook whispers, feeling the tightness in his throat.
Taehyung chuckles, “you would call me tacky if I do.”

Taehyung chuckles, “you would call me tacky if I do.”
Jungkook shrugs, “I won't. Because,” he gulps, “you have bewitched me too.”
Taehyung lets out a whimper, “shit!”
Jungkook gives a short laugh, “did you just say that to my classic quote?”
Taehyung waves his hands, “I can't really,” he shakes his head, “you feel the same?”

Jungkook breathes out a laugh, “are you kidding? Have you looked at yourself?”
Taehyung raises a brow, “well, you said I am pretentious and-”
Jungkook winces, “well,” he shrugs, “opposites attract, Taehyung.”
Taehyung gives him a smile too bright and Jungkook feels breathless.

“I think, they do,” Taehyung murmurs, “because, never in my life, I thought I would like a jock like you.”
Jungkook laughs, “I guess, they do, because never in my life, I thought I will like someone as vintage as you.”
Taehyung holds still when Jungkook pulls his mask off.
Jungkook laughs, “I guess, they do, because never in my life, I thought I will like someone as vintage as you.”
Taehyung holds still when Jungkook pulls his mask off.
“Shall I kiss you?” Jungkook asks, “my prince?”
Taehyung's cheeks are flushed, he nods, “you shall.”
The kiss is timid, this time Jungkook initiates it and Taehyung returns. They kiss, in the middle of the deserted pavement, under the snowfall, hands grasping onto each other.

They both know, they have a long way to go. They like each other. A lot.
Love… Love is still deep water. They are at the shore, dipping their toes in the river, and for now that's enough.
Taehyung loops his arms around Jungkook's shoulders. Both of them smiling into the kiss.

Above them, the sky lights up with crackers, and they can hear distant screams and cheers. Both of them look up at the sky, smile plastered on their lips.
“Merry Christmas,” Jungkook pulls Taehyung in a hug, “Tae.”
Taehyung buries his face against Jungkook's neck, “to you too.”

🎄🎄 4 years later 🎄🎄
“Where are you taking me?” Taehyung asks, “Jungkook.”
Jungkook laughs, “will you relax? I graduated, hyung. It's time for celebration!”
Taehyung looks around, “okay, but where are we going for that?”
Jungkook feels the excitement and a little anxiety build in him, “relax.”

“You will see it soon enough,” Jungkook speeds up the bike, “just hold on a little longer.”
Taehyung leans on his shoulder, grasping his waist, “yeah. Okay.”
It's monsoon, the drizzle makes them both curse. Jungkook hates the rain and Taehyung is in love with it.

Jungkook reaches the destination and ignores Taehyung's curious eyes while they take the elevator to the topmost floor.
Taehyung walks out of the elevator, a little dumbfounded, “where... what are we doing here?”
It's a new building complex, no one is on the floor.

It's a new building complex, no one is on the floor.
Taehyung walks inside the apartment Jungkook opens the door of and looks around.
“Jungkook...?” Taehyung turns to see Jungkook looking at him with something like excitement and hesitance in his eyes, “what is this?”
Jungkook holds out a ring, “our wedding gift.”

Jungkook holds out a ring, “our wedding gift.”
Taehyung blinks, “our... we are getting married?!”
Jungkook lets out a shuddering breath, slowly going down on his one knee, “if you say yes. We are.”
Taehyung takes those two steps to come and stand in front of Jungkook, looking down at the ring, “oh, god.”

“I know, you are probably thinking this is too soon,” Jungkook looks up at him, “I just graduated, but, Tae, I have spent my four years with you and,” his voice cracks, “I want to spend my forever with you. I am shit at this, but, please, say yes?”
Taehyung sniffles, laughing.
Taehyung sniffles, laughing.
“I don't know fancy words like you or those classics, but, I know I love you,” Jungkook breathes out a smile, “I love you so much.”
Taehyung wipes his eyes, slowly dropping on his knees in front of Jungkook, “and, I think that beats all those classics for me. Always will.”
Taehyung wipes his eyes, slowly dropping on his knees in front of Jungkook, “and, I think that beats all those classics for me. Always will.”
“Yes, okay,” Taehyung holds his hand out, “I will marry you. Because,” tears brim in his eyes, “if not you, who else?”
Jungkook pushes the ring up Taehyung's finger, pulling him in a kiss, “no one else. Just us. Forever.”
Taehyung believes that. Without a doubt, he knows that.

“Not even Namjoon's thighs?” Taehyung asks, arching his brows.
Jungkook laughs, “you can't be still petty about it! It has been four years!”
Taehyung glares, “just tell me!”
Jungkook pecks Taehyung's lips, “not even his thighs. Just you. I only love you.”

Taehyung smiles, “good,” he shrugs, “my thighs wrapped around your head look better anyway.”
As he gets up, admiring the ring on his finger, Jungkook chokes, laughing.
“You are such a brat,” Jungkook comes to hug Taehyung from behind, “you know?”
Taehyung hums, “your brat.”

“I love you,” he murmurs against Taehyung's lips, “I am sorry, if this is not the classic, dream proposal you wanted-”
Taehyung smiles at him, a satisfied sigh escaping him, “you are my classic in yourself, Jeon Jungkook.”

“I always wished for a love like those books and thought it was just that. A fantasy. I mean, who loves another person so ardently?” Taehyung holds Jungkook by his waist, “you showed me you do. You made me love you like that too. We are our classic, in our way. Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Jungkook swallows, closing his eyes when Taehyung kisses him.
Taehyung kisses Jungkook deeply, thinking how many pages of his life are left and how he would love to fill each one with Jungkook. Till the last page of his life.
Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook. A classic.
