I've been expecting this customer feedback ever since I first heard inDriver's ad.
If you let all buyers and sellers set their preferred bid & ask prices, you'll end up with a wide bid/ask spread.
There's no "market maker" (e.g. a fleet of drivers ready to accept highest bid).
It now becomes a game of chicken. Will some drivers drop their asks first? Or will some passengers raise their bids?
No guarantees either way, and this all means you almost definitely can't get real-time matches.
So what's the point?
I'm curious about whether letting everyone see where bids and asks are sitting will encourage or discourage them from moving their price into a better window.
Osapa to Airport
Highest Passenger bid: N2,000.
Lowest Driver ask: N20,000.
InDriver platform, trying to get users to go against rational self interest without market makers or a way to force a price match.
