Which then begs the question:
1. Ball control - Messi
2. Confidence on the ball - Messi
3. Pace - Arguable depending on how it's defined
4. Talent - Messi
5. Personal ability - Messi
6. How he faces opposition players - Messi
7. Finishing - Arguable
Why then do you prefer CR7πŸ™„
From the tweet, it sounds like you're a football romantic. You're not looking at vanity numbers like number of trophies won or goals scored. No. You're utilising the eye test, microscoping everything a player does and not just the goals he scores...
watching football like its art, appreciating the atomic details the majority don't see: Accuracy and weight of passes under different conditions, vision to see seemingly non-existent passing lanes and execute to perfection, dictating the tempo of the game...
Dribbling in tight spaces, reading the game on and off the ball and transmitting what you've read to your team mates in real time etc.
So if you say you pay particular attention to the process and not just the result; To HOW it is done and not just WHAT was done...
One would expect that from a purely objective footballing perspective, you would prefer Messi over Ronaldo considering the latter embodies more of these qualities to a greater degree and over a LONGER PERIOD OF TIME?
This tweet coming from you is especially puzzling because I have seen you give GOAT shouts for Ronaldo after he Scored a tapin, header or penalty. (I can't remember which of them precisely)
Point I'm making is, there is an apparent disconnect between this tweet and your preference for Ronaldo over Messi.
Unless of course, for some reason, you aren't employing these same indexes in their case which would then expose an inconsistency with the quoted tweet
Considering the former*
Edit: Thinking about it now (and after checking their XG stats,) Messi is actually a far more superior finisher.
