Running an agency requires working long hours every single day
A couple of months ago the grind had me feeling fairly burnt out
Until this time management strategy helped pull me out of it, maintain balance and boost my productivity
Check it out:๐Ÿ‘‡
Might seem counterintuitive, but Iโ€™ve found the key to being more productive is actually doing less to accomplish more
Iโ€™ve been using the 60-20-20-time management rule
- 60% main projects
- 20% spontaneous tasks
- 20% reflection
I only plan out 60% of my available time
And use this to focus on my high priority tasks
Things like important calls with clients, work related projects, my main to-do-list throughout the day
Then I save 20% of your time for spontaneous tasks
For those things I canโ€™t predict
Like day in tasks, other people bring to me or random unseen time-consuming problems I encounter
20% goes to reflection and conceptualisation
Iโ€™ve found slowing down to reflect on my work allows me room to innovate and make better experiences for clients
Taking a break from โ€œbusyโ€ work gives the extra bandwidth to notice valuable insights and come up with new ideas
Reserving time for spontaneous tasks and reflection might seem unproductive at first
But just because youโ€™re not generating new sales or seeing tangible outcomes doesnโ€™t mean your wasting your time
Slow down, practice the 60-20-20-time management rule and see if your productivity improves like mine did!
