I earn $1500 every week from writing in English.
Without a degree or any $3000+ writing courses.
I'm not even a native speaker.
What do I do?
I read great books.
Those 12 will help any copywriter level up their English skills in 2023:
1/ S. King "On Writing. A Memoir Of The Craft"
One of the greatest fiction writers of all time deconstructs writing concepts.
He shows the Toolbox every writer needs to keep their audience engaged.
A must-read in 2023.
2/ S. Pinker "The Sense of Style"
The best book on how to combine psychology with writing to make your copy irresistible.
3/ W. Zinsser "On Writing Well"
Good writing is precise.
This book will teach you how to write copy that always touches the right string in your reader's heart.
4/ A. Lamott "Bird by Bird"
This book teaches you the most underrated skill for every writer:
How to build your confidence as a creator.
As non-native speakers, you'll feel a lot of doubt regarding your craft. I come back to this book a lot for reassurance.
5/ A. Handley "Everybody writes"
Good English skills are not enough to level up as a copywriter.
You also have to know how to apply business rules to your writing.
This book teaches you that skill so damn well:
6/ B. Trenga "The Curious Case of the Misplaced Modifier"
This book shows 7 writing weaknesses editors must fix all the time in the most creative ways possible:
You learn by solving mysteries and uncovering all the lessons bit by bit.
7/ J. Bell "The Creative Writing Coursebook"
Best for writers who start on their journey and need creative guidance.
Filled with exercises to level up your skills.
8/ M. J Metts "Writing is Designing"
Good copy is not just a bunch of salesy words put together.
The best copywriting helps the reader grasp all the concepts you talk about on the spot.
9/ W. Strunk Jr. "The Elements of Style"
A classic book on grammar, style & punctuation.
Perfect for non-native copywriters to grasp the most important concepts about writing in English.
10/ R. P. Clark "The Art of X-Ray Reading"
A deep analysis of the writing styles of famous writers.
It helps you understand the power behind the all-time best writers in the game.
11/ R. P. Clark "The Glamour of Grammar"
Most grammar lessons at school are boring.
This book made me fall in love with grammar.
After reading it in high school, all my essays got straight As every time.
12/ D. E. Whitman "CA$HVERTISING"
Writing good copy is 99% using human psychology in practice.
This book taught me tricks I couldn't find in any other resource or course.
Hands-down best one in my Kindle collection!
