Do you know the monkey-banana-water experiment? πŸ˜€ It’s quite revealing about how human societies work.
Starts off like this:
Researchers put 5 monkeys in a room with some bananas at the top of a ladder.
Whenever a monkey climbs up the ladder, water is sprayed on the OTHER four monkeys! (And they hate it)
Soon, the monkeys figure out what’s happening.
So, they beat up any monkey who tries to climb the ladder.
But here’s the fascinating part…
At this point, the researchers remove one monkey and introduce a new one.
When the new guy goes for the bananas, obviously all the others beat him up.
Soon, he learns the lesson, although he has never gotten the water treatment
Now, the researchers remove one more water-trained monkey, and introduce a second new monkey.
Same process. And the first non-water-trained monkey also joins in the beating.
This goes on five times, and soon there are five monkeys that have NEVER been sprayed with water.
But none of them reach for the bananas!
They don’t know why but they will beat up anyone trying to reach the bananas!
This happens in human societies too. We are programmed by culture, tradition, political correctness, media, government etc.
Then we become the enforcers! We beat up people who think outside the box!
Fascinating or not? πŸ˜€
