The concept of “Museum Culture” deserves its own article honestly.
Indigenous cultures are either best in museums or rapidly decaying on small reservations of tribes. Even these small tribal customs are crushed by political co-opting by Marxists (or missionaries in India).

Their traditions are now at the whim of Western culture wars & lip services of land acknowledgement. Even the fantastical “land-back” movement has no commitment to cultural and spiritual revival, rather just an economic onus.

The reason being is that progressives are not comfortable with actual indigenous culture.
It is best either being co-opted or in a museum. As an aesthetic. A flimsy garment or mushy exotic food that poses no threat.
