They told you to spy on your family for breaking the rules and report them. They didn’t let you have funerals. They denied organ transplants. They pondered jail time for unvaccinated citizens, extra taxes, and revoking healthcare and other basic rights, and now they say this?
Years of hell to get to this conclusion: “These policies aren't effective," Bogoch said. "Let's not pretend for a second, that requiring a negative test prior to travel from an individual country is going to prevent us from importing COVID-19 or importing variants of concern."
It might be asking a bit much, but I’m thinking millions of people deserve an apology here.
In some ways, this is satisfying, because it massages my own confirmation bias. “I told you so,” right?
On a much larger scale though, it’s emotionally devastating. I’m left wondering what all the sacrifices were for if we achieved next-to-nothing, and we’ve come full-circle?
