🧵Thread: Top 10 Indian Films 2022
My favourite 10 Indian films from this year (2022) which i thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend anyday.
This is my personal pick so please be kind as am no expert.
Also, Happy New Year ❤️
Scroll down ⬇️
10. 🎬 Gargi [SonyLiv]
Language: Tamil
An effective legal drama aided by terrific performances with engaging screenplay and jaw dropping climax. One of the best in my opinion from this year.
Also Sai Pallavi is on a different league all together, what a talent 👑
09. 🎬 Pada [Prime Video]
Language: Malayalam
In 1996, a group of four men barge into a collector's office and hold him hostage to revolt against a controversial bill that exploits the rights of tribals.
08. 🎬 Matto Ki Saikil
Language: Hindi
Matto is the tale of a daily wage labourer and his old rusty cycle, which is one of the reasons he's able to put food on the table and make ends.
07. 🎬 Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey (HotStar)
Language: Malayalam
Am extraordinary film like no other and easily one of the best films this year, this is basically The Great Indian Kitchen on steroids and trust me it's a compliment.
06. 🎬 Saani Kaayidham (Prime Video)
Language: Tamil
A gore violent revenge drama which has instense elements & masterclass making. This felt like a glorious piece of art painted on a canvas of blood.
A treat for anyone who is a fan of intense revenge drama.
05. 🎬 Nna Thaan Case Kodu (HotStar)
Language: Malayalam
When an ex-robber gets falsely accused of theft by an MLA, he decides to retaliate against him in court. However, on his journey to seek justice he must face numerous hurdles.
04. 🎬 Kantara [Netflix]
Language: Kanada
I haven't experienced such surreal experience in a movie theater unlike this and still can't get over it.
The Hype Is Real!
03. 🎬 Qala [Netflix]
Language: Hindi
Qala is a gut wrenching display of aesthetic & fragile beauty of life & how artistic pursuit of perfection leads into an abyss of despair much like the moth that is irresistibly attracted to the flame that eventually consume it.
02. 🎬 Kadaisi Vivasayi [Sony LIV]
Language: Tamil
Not just a movie but a soul stirring experience, we don't get such films often in an era like this where cinema has become celebration of the "star" rather than the story.
Must Watch!!
01. 🎬 Me Vasantrao
Language: Marathi
A Marathi-language biopic based on life of indian classical musician Vasantrao Deshpande but unlike most of the Indian biopics this deals with the essence of what being true to the art really means rather than just a character portrayal.
