A group of enggs including website developers designed copy of few govt websites. Named the job scheme on Pradhanmantri Yojana etc. They sought money for registration etc in fake accounts and used to withdraw from ‘Jan Seva Kendra’ (charges 10% commission) leaving no traces.

They used to make calls from WhatsApp, number saved with schemes name (to dodge truecaller), and after duping a set of aspirants, eliminating all handsets & SIM. During investigation more than 1000 SIM and 500 handsets found.

The modus operandi was so ‘real’ that they had even call centre of 50staff @15K per month salary. EOW was trying to trace them since 2months but scamsters were always ahead of every possibility of being caught. Somehow cops led to Aligarh (UP) where they nabbed prime accused.

EOW Odisha is still estimating the sum of the scam, may float in crores. All names and numbers of fraudulents are still under investigation. This scam apparently is one of the biggest fake job schemes running within India.

Btw they used to give even advertisements in local newspapers 🤦🏻. Most of the jobs were related to healthcare to give it a look as if expansion of govt functionaries under health sector.
