23 lessons you should carry with you in 2023.
A thread 🧵
1. It’s okay if you goof up.
All you have to do is ensure that you keep taking action every day to achieve your goal.
Consistency beats excellence!
2. Slow progress is still progress.
If you could achieve only 20% of what you had planned for 2022, remember it is still progress.
3. Call/text or sit with your parents for at least 10 minutes every day.
Our parents are growing old & we may sometimes neglect their needs by saying I’m tired or I’m busy.
But remember growing up they didn’t say the same when they had to feed you or take you for a walk.
4. 2023 is giving you a chance to start fresh and rewrite this chapter of your story.
So do everything you want to try.
5. Think how you want to feel and be like financially, physically, mentally, and emotionally in DECEMBER 2023, and take action every day.
365 days is a lot and things can change drastically in 1 year.
6. Invest in yourself first before investing in other people & financial assets.
Be it buying a book, quality food, fitness, or experiences.
7. No one’s judging you as much as you do. Everyone is busy thinking about themselves so take messy action, who cares!
Start that Youtube channel, Podcast, or that Online business that you’ve been thinking about since 2020.
8. Leave the ifs and buts in 2022, if you want to try something do it.
Don’t fear failure, fear regret.
9. Evaluate all your friendships and if you feel they are getting void, drop them if needed.
10. Embrace the beauty of being wrong.
Every new piece of information is a chance for you to break a bias that you might have for years.
11. Physical activity is a must but also ensure you get sun rays early in the morning.
It is the most powerful medicine for your body.
12. Sometimes it’s okay to just listen. It is not always mandatory to give feedback.
13. Accept constructive criticism only from those who understand what you do or have already achieved what you want to achieve.
14. If you are obsessed with something then go all in with it.
People might call you crazy because they haven’t done it or seen it before.
15. If you believe work-life balance is:
> 50% work & 50% fun or
> 80%fun & 20% work or
> 80% work & 20% fun, then so be it.
Live the way you like and don’t let anyone decide your lifestyle.
16. Say ‘NO’ as often and as required even if it means upsetting people.
It will reduce your task lists and give you more time for the things that matter to you.
17. Accountability can make you more regular with what you have scheduled or promised to do.
So look up for an accountability partner/group.
18. Create a process or template for everything that you do in life.
It will make your life 10X times simpler and easier.
19. Habits take time to build, so if you are planning to pick up new habits this year, be patient with yourself and keep at it for at least the first 100 days.
20. Appreciate and compliment people as and when you get a chance.
Life is too short and you never know when you will meet them next.
21. Plan, strategize, talk and worry about the things that are in your control and not about the things that aren’t in your control.
22. Cut out the people who have a perpetual pessimistic view of life. You don’t need unnecessary negativity.
23. If you want to master a skill, hire the master of the skill aka find a mentor, and learn from them directly.
That is the easiest and fastest way to cut through all the trial and error.
