The genetic profile of North-Western Indians. NW Indians have the highest Steppe ancestry in India along with the Brahmins of UP, Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP, Bihar etc
FST Genetic distances to Indo-Iranian of Srubnaya culture. The whiter the color, the closer the population to Bronze Age Steppe. One can see how distant Muslims from UP or Dravidian tribals are and how Tamil, Telugu Brahmins are much more distant than Northern Indians.
qpDstatistics show that Bronze Age Srubnaya Alakul (1850-1450 BCE) is prefered as the source of Steppe MLBA ancestry in Indians over Sintashta (2050-1850 BCE) or over Kangju (200 CE) or even Iron Age Yaz (950 BCE). Hence, Srubnaya is the most prefered source of Steppe ancestry.
