5 critical mistakes I wish I would have avoided when starting my High Ticket Dropshipping journey.
Avoiding one of these mistakes would have saved me over $100,000.
// THREAD // 🧵
People get the idea that high ticket dropshipping, or eCom in general is without headaches.
In fact, it's one of the most headache-inducing business models to move forward with.
You will see mistakes, but hopefully, my insight will help you avoid these mistakes as you start your journey.
It takes many mistakes and months to see substantial results.
High Ticket Dropshipping is not fast cash.
1️⃣ - Not Taking Action ❌
I'm going to tell you something that helped me when struggling to take action.
You can apply this to any portion of life.
"Seeing the outcome that you want as factual"
If you doubt the outcome from the beginning, it's going to stunt your growth.
The anxiety and worry associated with doubting the outcome will hinder your ability to take action.
Once you accept the outcome as factual you can allocate your
👉 Time
👉 Mental bandwidth
👉 Energy
To your work and begin working in a flow state.
2️⃣ - Wasting Time with Terrible Brands ⌛
I have had awful experiences with brands that were not worth the headaches.
Last November I sold some saunas from a brand that said the shipping time was going to be 4 weeks.
They delayed the shipments 5 months.
Our customers would call us asking where their saunas were.
This brand deliberately lied to us so we wouldn't cancel the orders and left our customers with a terrible impression.
Which is when we dropped the brand completely - never put up with a brand that acts this way.
The sign to drop certain brands are:
👉 Not responding effectively
👉 Lying
👉 Giving inaccurate information by mistake
Don't ignore these faults and drop them from day one.
3️⃣ - Choosing a Bad Store Name 🏬
My store name is not easy to pronounce, and definitely not easy to spell.
It's caused us a lot of problems and questions - not to say you can't succeed with a bad name, however.
Choosing a store name that is easy to pronounce, spell, and especially resonates with people via word of mouth is important.
You will increase your chances of success and will make your life much easier.
For example, if you sell massage chairs primarily:
"massagechairhaven" would be an excellent option that resonates with people.
Easy to remember, spell, and will stick with people when spoken through word of mouth.
4️⃣ - Pointless Shopify Apps 🚫
Nothing will slow your store's loading times more than useless, poorly optimized Shopify apps.
Only install apps that you really need and that you see as being a huge help to your store.
I have plenty of apps that provide high value.
It's also crucial to never make this mistake because some app's code stays on your store PERMANENTLY.
This results in a permanent change in your store's speed which you do not want.
Even if you remove the app.
5️⃣ - Wasting Money on Agencies Early On 💰🔥
In the eCommerce space, big agencies will drain your store dry.
They're not good, they have no idea what they're doing, and will charge you ridiculous amounts of money.
In a business model like eCommerce, specifically High Ticket Dropshipping, cash flow is paramount.
You need proper cash flow so you can allow room to reinvest back into your business.
Wasting money on agencies that provide zero value is an easy way to disrupt your cash flow.
I spent over $100,000 on agencies that without a doubt provided zero value to my business.
Complete waste of money and time.
Luckily, I later found someone in the SEO space who does know what he is doing.
He told me that everyone I paid had zero idea what they were doing and I might as well have taken that $100,000 and burned it.
In SEO, backlinks are the most important thing for your success.
This one SEO agency I spent $50,000 on didn't even implement one backlink.
All they did was change some headings and put some content on my site.
If this agency had provided backlinks and blogposts we would be in an amazing SEO position right now.
The key takeaway is finding an agency that works on a performance basis.
They don't get paid unless they perform at a certain level.
This doesn't mean they will be good but is a good tip to follow
You're better off staying lean as possible, learning the tasks yourself, while after implementing SOPs you can give to your internal team
Which they can implement themselves
This will be much cheaper at the start.
