1) “Three Feet From Gold”
One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.
The greatest success come just one step beyond the point at which defeat had overtaken them.
2) Every person who wins in any undertaking must be willing to burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat.
Only by so doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of mind known as a burning desire to win, essential to success.
3) A burning desire to be, and to do, is the starting point from which the dreamer must take off.
4) As knowledge is acquired, it must be organized and put into use for a definite purpose through practical plans.
Knowledge has no value except that which can be gained from its application toward some worthy end.
5) There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or definite goal at which to aim.
6) Most of us go through life as failures because we are waiting for "time to be right"
Do not wait. The time will never be "just right".
Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, better tools till be found as you go along.
7) “Power of Master Mind”
When a group of individual brains are coordinated and function in harmony, the increased energy created through that alliance becomes available to every individual brain in the group.
8) “Emotions”
Positive and negative emotions cannot occupy the mind at the same time. One or the other must dominate.
It is your responsibility to make sure that positive emotions constitute the dominating influence of your mind.
9) One of the blessings of maturity is that it sometimes brings one greater courage to be truthful, regardless of what those who do not understand may think or say.
10) “Old Man Worry”
Kill the habit of worry, in all its forms, by reaching a general, blanket decision that nothing which life has to offer is worth the price of worry.
With this decision will come poise, peace of mind, and calmness of thought that will bring happiness.
11) The starting point of all achievement is desire.
The finishing point is that brand of knowledge which leads to understanding – understanding of self, understanding of others, understanding of the laws of Nature, recognition and understanding of happiness.
12) “Time”
Life is a checkerboard, and the player opposite you is time.
If you hesitate before moving, or neglect to move promptly, your men will be wiped off the board by time. You are playing against a partner who will not tolerate indecision.
