I became a millionaire at age 41.
If I had truly understood these 5 concepts, I could have done it 10 years sooner:
1. Being comfortable is a trap
Being comfortable feels good, but:
- it stops you from growing
- it tricks you into settling
- it fools you into distraction
I used to say no to risks that seemed too difficult when I should have tried.
2. Never act richer than you are
I used to overspend
- to buy the latest brands
- to buy stuff I didn't need
- to go to the best schools
I would have saved so much money if I hadn't cared so much about this.
3. Relationships are your biggest asset
You can learn so much faster from others
Doing it on your own is slow
Relationships get you in the door
Never underestimate the power of good relationships.
4. The tortoise always wins
I almost lost my license because I had too many speeding tickets.
I was always in a rush
I wanted results
But, slow and steady wins every time.
5. Location, location, location
Real estate investing is all about location
- right state
- right city
- right street
Do you research before you buy.
TL; DR;
5 concepts that would have made me a millionaire sooner:
1. Being comfortable is a trap
2. Never act richer than you are
3. Relationships are your biggest asset
4. The tortoise always wins
5. Location, location, location
