HOW TO HAVE A POWERFUL PRESENCE
[a thread on becoming the center of the room]
Do you turn heads when you walk into a room?
Don’t worry, it doesn’t really matter, soon you will every time you walk into a room.
Read to learn how to have a powerful presence.
Having a powerful presence is all about confidence.
I’m not just talking about being confident, I’m talking about treading on the edge of arrogance.
Speak with absolute conviction and intent.
People have to wonder “what the fuck is this guy on?” whenever you speak about a particular topic.
But there is a catch; you never speak about shit you don’t know.
Remember, you’re not just trying to sound like an expert, you must be one.
Don’t just read extensively on your interests, delve into them.
Stop reading business books and start a business.
Stop reading about chess players and play/train till your rating can turn heads.
Stop talking and reading masculinity and ‘about women’ stuff and go date a couple of girls.
Stop ruminating on shit and get yourself bruised a bit.
Go into the arena and gain some valuable real life knowledge.
This is the only way your words will carry weight when you speak.
You become undeniably ‘real’ because your words are real and you’re not just regurgitating some shit you read on the internet two weeks ago.
When you’re with people they can sense when you doubt yourself or when you don’t speak with absolutely conviction.
You cannot afford to be a loud mouth who knows little about what he’s saying.
All the greats ‘lived’ their philosophy [except maybe Nietzsche and a few other classics]
But the truly greats lived their philosophy. You must emulate this if you intend to be an unstoppable force of nature.
Do not back down from a challenge.
Only cowards back down from social challenges.
If someone thinks what you’re saying is bullshit [amongst your friends] don’t shy aware from engaging them in a debate to see whose points are more legitimate.
If you’re unable to win, then perhaps reevaluate your stance and see if you have more to learn.
If you do win, it only shows you know your stuff or the challenger is the oblivious one. Plus, learning to articulate your ideas is always a bonus.
You must be an interesting person.
You become interesting when you have varying interests you’re deep into.
You know at least 5 different, unrelated areas of life you have some good knowledge and experience in.
For example:
-You’ve started a business
-You run a community project
-You’ve gained a title playing chess
-You’ve dated quite a number of women
-You’re also part of an exclusive club in your town
You could easily talk about a bunch of different things with different people.
The more diverse you are, the more interesting you get.
Nobody wants to hear from a dude living in his mom’s basement that hasn’t gone out to do shit in his life apart from schooling.
Lastly, but very importantly, is to get in shape.
This just enhances everything you do. Going to the gym is a life hack.
You basically 10X whatever you’re doing by lifting heavy shit.
Nobody cares that you’ve done all that if you’re fat.
But when you’re jacked, and you’ve done all that, then you become godlike.
Don’t be lazy and fuck everything up because you don’t lift.
You don’t need to be picking up bitches brother, you need to pick up some weights.
