If you're an overthinker, read this...
1. Understand what you can control.
How much of what you're stressing about is in your control?
Realise that you can't control everything, the only thing you can control is your reactions.
So start to let stuff go!
2. Realize you're maybe overblowing the situation.
99% of the harm is caused by making the problem bigger than what it is.
If it is not life or death, take a step back and have a think about the stressor.
Ask yourself if it is worth the suffering?
3. Get it out of your head.
What weighs us down is that when we overthink, our thoughts multiply and pile up.
Journaling is a great way to get your thoughts out of your head.
No journal available, grab a sheet of paper, use your phone's notes app; just get it down!
4. Meditate.
Right now as you read this, take a breather.
Don't worry about where you are, just take a deep breathe.
If it helped, practice meditation or find time to take a few deep breathes throughout the day.
5. Distract yourself.
Stop overthinking by engaging in an enjoyable activity.
This will look different for everyone but you know what you like.
Better yet, try something new!
6. Realize the impact of not tackling overthinking.
Overthinking leads to you freezing.
Unfortunately procrastination is the silent killer of dreams.
Think of all the potential missed opportunities if you don't dedicate the time to combat this.
7. Remember...
There is no changing the past, and there is no changing the future.
Life is too short to be unhappy!
Begin with some of the steps above and hopefully your mind becomes clearer.
