Labeling someone as 'abusive' or 'violent' because you don't like their politics is lazy and manipulative. Reason number 800 why I distanced myself from 'feminism', the ideology and movement, instead choosing the fight for women's rights, civil liberties, rationality and autonomy
At some point over the last few years I started to become aware that much of 'feminism' was just as immersed in identity politics, purity politics, thought policing, and lazy thinking as any of the trans activists they railed against. I can't deal with hypocrisy and lazy thinking
Moreover, the bullying and toxic behaviour I've witnessed in 'feminism' over the past decade+ became too much at a certain point. Feminists love cancel culture as much as anyone. It just got way too culty for me.
If you're going to tell me I must toe certain party lines 'as a feminist', regardless of whether they make sense or are ethical, then I guess I just won't be a feminist anymore. The labels are not the thing that matter anyway.
Far too many feminists seem invested in pushing women *out* of what they view as 'their' movement than they do bringing them in, trying to relate to and/or understand them. I used to be like this, I think. It's a horrible approach to fighting for women's rights imo.
I've run pretty much the only successful feminist website and podcast in Canada for over ten years. I was one of only a few women who spoke out against gender identity legislation before Bill C-16 in Canada...
... Yet the Canadian feminist cult cancelled, libelled, and trashed me endlessly. I'm not saying this to brag, but to say why on EARTH would feminists target someone like me for cancellation if what they *actually* care about is fighting for women's sex-based rights?
If political purity, thought policing, and virtue signalling is more important to you then actually getting something done/stopping legislation and policy that ACTUALLY harms women and girls, then your political movement sucks.
