The computer was invented in the west. Its keyboard is designed for English inputting.
How to input Chinese characters through keyboard puzzled Chinese people for a long time - until the invention of Chinese input method.
Through the Chinese input method, it not only realizes the inputtingof thousands of Chinese characters, but also greatly improves the input efficiency.
For example, if I want to express "May everything turn out as you wish", I just need to input "WSRY" - δΈδΊε¦ζ.
Through the application of AI tech, Chinese input method can learn the user's usage habits, and sometimes predict the Chinese words or sentences you want to input.
This makes Chinese input a very easy thing.
Most Chinese input methods also provide tips for English word input.
I'm just not used to using this function.π
I am curious that as native English users, do you use input method software?π€
There are two mainstream Chinese input methods:
1. "Five strokes input method" based on Chinese character structure. #δΊη¬εεθΎε ₯ζ³
2. "Pinyin input method" based on Chinese character pronunciation. #ζΌι³θΎε ₯ζ³
What I am using is a pinyin input method.
As far as I know, the earliest "five strokes input method" was invented by Mr. Wang Yongmin in 1983.
I'm not sure who invented the earliest pinyin input method.
But I know that the most famous pinyin input method is the "intelligent ABC Chinese input method" invented by Zhu Shoutao, a professor of Peking University, because it is integrated into Windows.
It is said that in southern China, more people use the "five strokes input method".
In northern China, more people who use "pinyin input method".
Maybe because the northern dialect is closer to Mandarin pronunciation?!
I'm not sure.π
However, the current pinyin input method has well solved the input errors caused by inaccurate pronunciation.
Since every Chinese kid learns Chinese pinyin in primary school, pinyin input method has become the most widely used input method.
