Muslim Bengalis served as Paikas, generals, officers in the military of many Sultanates and kingdoms of the subcontinent including Delhi, Bengal, Arakan and Odisha etc. Bengali Paikas demand was very high among Delhi, Arakan and Bengal ๐Ÿ‘‡
In army of Alaudeen Khilji, Bengali paikas(foot soldiers) were present due to their skill and they mastered the art of archery along with Persian soldiers this is mentioned by 14-15 century Gujarati Rajput poet Sridhara Vyasa.
This isn't first time, Bengali Paikas especially skillful Archers were employed by Arakanese kingdom also;
