I audit 2-3 poorly-optimised welcome series flows every week, so I wanted to write a brief thread on improving yours
If you want to get more money out of that flow FAST
Here are the mistakes you’re likely making and need to avoid:

Here are the mistakes you’re likely making and need to avoid:
1. It’s too short
2. They don’t mix offers and content
3. They’re not using progressively more creative & aggressive offers
4. Copy is simply boring

1. It’s too short
I always say you want your welcome flows to be >6 emails long
If your flows are good
You can essentially make them as long as you want

Like we did with one CBD client with a 14 email welcome series
Which had a 37% open rate on the final email
And generates them 8% of overall online revenue
Be engaging and make your flows long

2. They don’t mix offers and content
We do this with our Trojan horse emails
Meaning the content comes in first
Then we drop them an offer
We do this with our Trojan horse emails
Meaning the content comes in first
Then we drop them an offer
So the first and third emails are very offer focused
But our second, fourth and on emails are full of brand-building content
This Trojan Horse concept continues as the flow progresses

3. They’re not using progressively more creative & aggressive offers
As the welcome flow progresses, we’re gradually scaling up the incentives and trying some different offers than just % off
A bit more aggressive + creative = $$$

Content like a gift guide, letter from the founder or lab results in the CBD brand’s case works well
And all the time the offer is going from 10% to 15% and on
So the flow is never stale, there is always something worth reading

1. Copy is kind of boring
It’s not that you need amazing and exaggerated technical copy to keep people interested
Just needs to be engaging and tied to what the customer actually wants
Then it won’t ever be boring as it’s focusing on them and their pain points

Get their attention with a wild statement
Use hard proof to back up that statement
Then blast case studies & risk reversal before a fat CTA
Works really well
