1. Four Malaysian women have been included in the Forbes’ 50 Over 50: Asia 2023, a list which recognises women from different fields.
This includes chef Beh Gaik Lean, author Karina Robles Bahrin, academic Prof. Dr Asma Ismail and activist Ambiga Sreenevasan.

2. Chef Beh was awarded a Michelin Star for her Baba Nyonya eatery in Penang last year, making her one of the first Malaysians to receive the honour.
Robles Bahrin published her first novel, The Accidental Malay, last year, which won the Epigram Books Fiction Prize 2022.
3. Dr. Asma received the National Academic Laureate award last year. Her typhoid rapid diagnostic test TYPHIDOT, is used worldwide.
Sreenevasan is a prominent lawyer and advocate, including for electoral reform. In 2009 she received the U.S. International Women of Courage award.
