Interesting observations here on upside inflation risks.
Similarly, economists at Goldman Sachs last week noted the potential for an "echo effect" in January as many labor and supplier contracts are reset or renegotiated to reflect the previous year's price changes.
Goldman: "We estimate that the January echo effect and the nearly 10% rise in input costs last year argue for a one-time boost of 0.1-0.2pp to monthly core CPI inflation in the January report"
Current assumptions point to a 0.47% rise in the core CPI measure (mom sa) in January
