Tower tributes to World Wars.....
Other similar styles -
WW1 towers, Yser Towers, in the Belgian Flanders.
One built in 1930, and then it was bombed.
A new, Two Tower complex was completed in 1965. Complete with raised mound and portal.
Commissioned in 1930, this is the Veteran’s Monument on Mount Greylock, in Massachusetts. A 93 foot tall stunner
And this the Douaumont Ossuary, Germany, 1932.
This enormous necropolis contains the remains of 146,000 soldiers, both in it grounds and in the structure. Google earth has some really good images of this place.
