The biggest mistakes I made when I started on Twitter:
•Not DMing
•Not engaging
•Not commenting
•Not helping others
And It took me 2+ months to break 100 followers.
But In the last 28 days, I've gained 2,000+ followers & 2.19M Impressions.
Here's how you can do the same:
Use Twitter the wrong way & you'll waste a ton of time.
The key:
Build a community of friends and like-minded people
Once you start connecting and helping others, growth will follow
This thread will help you overcome the growing pains
Let's dive in:
Quick Wins:
Offer your audience a quick win.
A fast takeaway that gives them an immediate answer.
This automatically gives you credibility, & shows your audience you provide value.
See the example below.
Let your audience decide:
Ask for their input.
Lego went from 800M dollars in debt to becoming the most successful toy manufacturer in the world.
How?
By asking their customers what Lego sets they should build.
Do the same by asking this or that questions.
Solve problems:
Solve their problems:
I spend 1 hour a day searching:
•Quora
•Reddit
•Facebook groups
For people in my niche.
I search:
•"How do I"
•"I have a problem"
•"I need help with"
I take the problems and file them into notion.
Generate baller ideas:
Ideas:
Formulate writing ideas from:
•Books
•Podcasts
•Freewriting
•Experiences
•Conversations
I always have a small notepad with me.
Ideas come when you least expect them, so make sure you get them saved.
Generating content:
Content:
It used to take me hours to write a Tweet.
Now I can write 18+ Tweets in a few hours
Do this:
•Read
•Take notes
•Turn notes into your own words
•Use @thatroblennon's creatorboost.xyz to template notes.
Let's keep going:
@thatroblennon Tweets:
Good for idea testing
Bad for gaining followers
If your tweet receives a lot of engagement, write a thread about it.
Threads are what attract followers and command attention.
Understand, 80% of the thread is the headline:
@thatroblennon Headline:
Grabs attention
Shows credibility
Pokes at a problem
Gets the reader from line 1 to line 2
Hints at a solution (but doesn't give it away)
Have friends review your headline draft.
Write multiple headlines and choose what's best.
@thatroblennon Threads:
I write threads 3-4 times a week.
At first, I sucked, but as my friend @_SyedHuq says:
"You gotta get the reps in"
My failed threads ended up becoming content for my successful threads.
The art is in the repurposing.
Learn to DM:
@thatroblennon @_SyedHuq DMs:
DMs establish a one-on-one connection. This is how you create friendships & relationships.
Don’t:
•Be needy
•Ask for things
•Say “Hi” or “Hello”
Do:
•Ask what their goals are
•Reach out with positivity
•Express mutual interests
@thatroblennon @_SyedHuq QRTs:
QRTs are the ultimate hack.
Here's why:
If you write the QRT as a hook, it can be reshared by bigger accounts.
I try to do this 2-5 times a day for friends and larger accounts.
Ex.
Everyone talks about X
But nobody talks about Y
Read this to get Z
Commenting:
@thatroblennon @_SyedHuq Comments:
Use a scheduling tool like Zlappo to use rapid engagement.
Create lists of creators who are a couple of steps ahead of you.
I comment 50-100 times a day.
This builds relationships and gets you noticed.
Master the zoom calls:
@thatroblennon @_SyedHuq Zoom Calls:
This week I will have 10 1:1s with creators I've become friends with.
Do this:
•Talk about your goals
•Talk about your wins & problems
•Talk about each other's strengths
•Talk about the problems you're facing
Zoom calls are an underrated hack for growth
Give:
@thatroblennon @_SyedHuq Giveaways:
I created a PDF to help people get to 1K Followers.
It wasn't perfect, but it helped people, generated leads, & gave me +500 followers.
Create a product that would've helped you a year ago, and build on it in the future.
Here's an example:
@thatroblennon @_SyedHuq Engagement Groups:
Create a Discord or Telegram group with your friends.
Let them know when you post something and the immediate engagement helps boost your content.
It's also a great chance to share what works and what doesn't.
