Problem with US is that I see no focus on actually reducing health care costs. All the discussion is about how to get people to pay for it.
Is the nexus of Pharma like Pfizer, FDA, politicians and the medical insurance to deep to address the real issue?

Capitalism does *not* work in healthcare. If a pharma co found a drug that cured chronic disease (rather than keeping ppl sick for a lifetime), it wouldn't make $billions.
US healthcare is a prime example of the limits of capitalism as a force for good.

Yes, if you cure people there is no money in it.
If you kill people, there's also no money in it.
So companies like Pfizer optimize keeping people alive but sick for a long time. This is why the focus is "annuity drugs" that you take for a lifetime.

As long as capitalism stands for freedom, it is better than the alternative from the West, which is communist authoritarianism.
But neither is either alternative. We need a new dharmic model.
