The major difference between Mughal And Islamic Sultanate colonisation and British Colonization, was that the Mughals and the Sultanate, tried to do it by sword.
British did it via System and process.
That's why British Colonization was far more thorough And complete.

The Sultanate and Mughals tried to forcibly tell us that they were better than us.
British convinced us to think that their systems and processes were better
Complete Colonization happens when the colonized convince themselves that they need to be colonized.
British did that

The power of their Colonization is that we still cannot remove traces of their Colonization, 75 years after they left.
We still haven't made changes in the laws, to suit us. Instead we continue with the statues dictated by them whose only intention was to tell us, we are useless

That's why, amongst all the people who pillaged India, the British were the most dangerous and damaging.
Sultanate is gone.
Other than stupid attempts by some twitter handles and Bollywood, Mughals too are irrelevant.
But British still influence us
Which is both sad and wrong
