No arab scholar ever said that Mogadishu was founded by arabs or even indicated towards that. No arab scholar that visited Mogadishu from the 10th - 16th century ever said such a thing and if it was true these arab scholars who visited Mogadishu wouldβve surely mentioned it.

Think about this, if Mogadishu was founded by arabs then why didnβt any arab or muslim scholar that wrote about Mogadishu from the 10th - 16th century ever say it ? Why are the only people who r suggesting it europeans ? Why didnβt the arabs themselves say it ?

The history of Mogadishu is one of regional dominance and global trade it was called the biggest/wealthiest and most powerful city in east africa by literally every traveler from china to portugal. Its status as the regional powerhouse was unquestioned until the 1600s.

There wasnβt a single european city or municipality that was doing what Mogadishu was doing in terms of trade from the 10th to the 1500s century! Somali history is one π engagement and reaching out to others but colonial scholars tried to reduce it 2 being mere camelherders
