9 Ways to break your phone addiction: 🧵
- Stop charging your phone by your bed
This makes it difficult for you to spend countless hours up late at night staring at your phone.
Put it in a different room and not only will you spend less time on it, you’ll also sleep better!
- Use an actual alarm
This goes along with the last point. Get your phone away from you and you’ll have no temptation of going on it.
It also will keep you from checking your phone first thing in the morning.
- Turn off notifications
Notifications are made to alert you and distract you from whatever you are doing.
Turn off useless notifications and watch your productivity soar!
- Do a phone detox
It doesn’t matter the length but set a timer for an hour or more and completely stay away from it.
You’ll be surprised at how much time you have.
- Track your phone usage
The more you look at how much time you’re spending on your phone the more conscious your efforts at reducing your screen time.
Making your bad habits visible is the first step in defeating them.
- Remove distracting apps
Delete games or other apps that don’t help you.
Don’t purposely have temptations to fall into.
- Say why you’re going to go on
Tell yourself exactly why you’re going on your phone. This helps you not get sidetracked and limits your time.
- Go places without your phone
Enjoy being in the moment. Make the most out of the time with your friends or family while you’re out!
You don’t need your phone to distract you from good experiences!
- Set time limits
Time limits force you to be intentional with your time.
They seem childish but do help a lot.
