You can get past these conversations via a technique called ELICITATION.
Elicitation is a questioning technique developed by the FBI for interrogations—which encourages people to speak up.

You use elicitation by asking a question or putting out a statement that she can't resist NOT answering.
Not responding = burning a hole in her brain.
You can perform elicitation via 4 different angles:

1️⃣ RECOGNIZE SOMETHING GOOD
'People thrive when you recognize something good about them.'
'Mention “I love your sweater,” and you will get a story about how he or she obtained the sweater.'

2️⃣ COMPLAIN TOGETHER
People like to talk about what they love.
But people love to talk about what they hate.
Hating the same stuff builds a stronger connection because hate is seldom expressed.
Your enemy is my enemy.

You: 'Let's be real. Is there something you didn't like about that restaurant?'
Her: 'That waiter was a bit of d*ck.'

Calibrate if she wants to let off some steam and give her a safe environment to do so.

People have a hard time listening to anything that counters their beliefs.
Or,
anything that is obviously wrong (the earth is flat).
So, say something controversial, and they'll gladly step in.

The way you say something crazy is by having a big smile on your face—after they correct you.
A smile that says: 'Bitch, I know. You totally felt for it.'

Acting a bit naive is an excellent way for people to step into a teacher role.
Especially people with big egos or self-proclaimed intellectuals gladly step in.
This works best when you talk about some specific detail (maybe even one you don't quite get yet).
