This week we have had increase admissions of people drinking SNIPER, PARAQUAT and other insecticides.
Sadly some people died while some are alive with organ damages.
I decided to create this thread to raise awareness and tell what to do

PARAQUAT also GRAMOXONE is a herbicide used to kill weeds. dangerous to humans when swallowed or inhaled.
SNIPER contains 2, 2-dicholorovinyl dimethyl phosphate)
In some countries you need to have a license to have PARAQUAT, in Nigeria it isn't regulated & some homes have it

The cases we saw was mixed from young to elderly people
Some took it out of anger from frustration of owing money
Another took after breaking up with a lover.
Another took it from being tired of situation of hardship of things.
Last mixed it with soft drink we didn't know why

Poisoning with Paraquat is an emergency and the person should be rushed to the hospital
They start to have
Diarrhoea
Vomiting
Abdomen pain
Seizure
Later
Confusion
Coma
Liver, lung and kidney damage, etc and many more symptoms

All this happen because these Chemicals block some normal functions of the body...
Some of these generate byproducts in the body that cam damage organs like Liver and kidneys, brain and many more within a short time
Some people can bleed to death if not attended to

One very important is PLEASE ENDEAVOR TO HOLD ANY BOTTLE OR CONTAINER FOUND AROUND SUCH PERSON
It helps the Medical team to act swiftly and know which substance was taken.
There are varieties of poison and substances people are ingesting and seeing containers can help

Sadly most of the patients that swallowed Paraquat presented late to us at the point of vomiting and stooling blood , seizures, and some coma with damage of their organs
Most of them died
Please if you have PARAQUAT or SNIPER..label well & keep beyond the reach of young People

Don't overload them with Palm oil
Don't force them to drink water to make them Vomit
Don't force them to drink Kerosene
Don't try to give them things to make them Vomit...the vomit can enter the Chest cause Chest infections and this also can kill

Please Urgent rush to a Hospital increases chance of saving life
This helps to connect them to Mental and Psychological services because some people need to have counseling so they don't repeat such after they are discharged
