2 \ Why it matters: This is Netanyahu's 1st visit to Amman and 1st meeting with the king since June 2018. This is also Netanyahu's 1st foreign trip since he returned to the Prime Minister's job a month ago
3 \ The big picture: The visit comes amid tensions between Jordan and Israel over the visit of the Israeli minister for national security Itamar Ben Gvir at the Temple Mount\Haram al-Sharif compound two weeks ago
4 \ The royal court said in a statement that King Abdullah stressed in his meeting with Netanyahu the importance of respecting the historical and legal status quo at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound
5 \ The Israeli PM office said the two leaders discussed regional issues and the strategic, security and economic cooperation between the two countries "which contributes to regional stability"
