How to achieve great skin health.
Thread🧵
*Standard disclaimer that this does not constitute medical advice*
Our skin is an extremely complex system and improving its health will require a holistic solution.
No cream or supplement will give you perfect skin in the long run.
When a system so complex gets sick, this
signals that multiple things are in a dysfunctional state. Not just one.
And this is why the skincare industry is a God only knows how many billion dollars industry.
They’ve tricked people in ALL areas into believing that there’s this one thing, let it be a cream or
a supplement, that if they buy all of their problems will go away.
Every industry works like this.
Are you having problems with testosterone?
There, it doesn’t matter that you sleep like shit, are in front of blue light all day, can’t bench 2 plates, drink booze every day, you
haven’t been exposed to sunlight without soyscreen in 7 years and you’re eating worse than a 5 year old left alone at a candy store, our heavy metal filled testosterone booster
Which is of course a lie but since most people are lazy they’ll keep buying it.
They all work the same way.
There’s an infinite amount of face creams and supplements and medications around skin issues, yet more and more people nowadays face skin problems.
These things don’t address the cause of skin issues and this is why they will never lead to anything
more than a small short term improvement (if that).
So, if you’re struggling with skin issues try the following approach for 3 months.
Step 1: Eat right.
Every cell in our body is made out of the things we eat and so our skin will be as well. So, if you ingest garbage, your
skin will be made out of garbage. As simple as that.
Now the proper diet past a certain point is based around the individual’s history and current conditions.
So, the following dietary guides are for a person who struggles with skin issues and they should not be mindlessly
applied to any other issue as a jack of all trades.
If you struggle with skin issues, try the following dietary guidelines for the next 3 months.
1. Avoid all industrial polyunsaturated vegetable oils which are made out of things such as safflower, sunflower, soy, corn,
canola, , cottonseed and in general cheap oils that are widely spread nowadays.
This includes fish oils as well.
Yeah, yeah. There will always be a dude who doesn’t like the fact that i am saying that he should stop consuming fish oils, but the only answer to that is, quit
them for just 3 months and if after that you don’t feel any better, you can go back to consuming it.
2. Avoid processed foods.
This is the best way to avoid toxins such as high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, food dyes, preservatives and so on.
3. Avoid all grains.
4. Avoid all canned foods (they leak aluminum).
5. Avoid all protein, collagen, amino acid, pre workout and in general powders filled with toxins.
6. If you are not borderline deficient in vitamin or mineral take a 1 week break from all supplements.
Again, some people will
dislike this and the response is once again, try cutting them out for only 1 week and if your skin does not start to look better, you can go back to consuming them.
Unless of course, you are borderline deficient in something or your doctor recommended to you otherwise.
7. Avoid corn.
8. Avoid lentils and peas.
9. Avoid raw cruciferous vegetables.
10. Avoid poor quality dairy.
11. Avoid seeds and nuts unless they are soaked or/and sprouted.
12. Avoid phytoestrogens.
13. Avoid root vegetables in powdered forms.
14. Avoid nightshades.
15. Minimize the consumption of alcohol.
16. Avoid the mindless consumption of commonly recommended medications such as antacids and NSAIDs.
17. If you have never consumed organ meats, egg yolks or raw dairy, stop consuming foods extremely rich in beta carotenes for 2-3 weeks.
They put the body’s vitamin A needs on overdrive (one of the reasons why a lot of people who start doing the carrot salad develop dandruff).
And last but not least you should not use aluminum and non-stick cookware or a microwave.
Disclaimer: There will always be a person who will ask “why” when it comes to a certain recommendation and this person has most of the times not read the threads inside of the pinned tweet.
So, since my notifications are muted, please do that before asking a question and if you
still have one, send a DM. I try to check them once per week.
Moving on.
So what can you eat then?
Well this brings us to step 2 which is : get enough skin supportive nutrients.
The most crucial ones being:
-Glycine
-Vitamin C
-Vitamin E
-Proper balance of Zinc : Copper
-Vitamin A
-Proper balance of magnesium : potassium: sodium: calcium
-Selenium
-Iodine
-Vitamin D
-B vitamins
-Vitamin K
You can get these from food sources such as bone in meats, pasture raised eggs, some quality oysters, quality white fish, fruit, some organ meats (some people
recommend the daily consumption, others that you shouldn’t even be touching them and i propose 100-200 grams per week divided however you want given that you get enough sunlight, the rest of the fat soluble vitamins and have never supplemented synthetic vitamin A), oils such as
coconut oil, cold pressed blackseed oil, cold pressed palm kernel oil and raw EVOO, unheated honey and depending on the person even things such as jasmine rice (jasmine rice, not “rice”), potatoes, (some) raw dairy and even greens slow cooked in animal fats can be added.
Then, you will need to start prioritizing sleep.
Here are 10 tips that could help you with this:
1) Have a consistent wake-up time.
2) Eat breakfast.
3) Avoid artificial lights upon waking and expose yourself to natural light instead.
4) Stop consuming coffee on a fasted
state.
5) Aim to get a workout around 6-10 AM.
6) Get sun exposure multiple times during the day (even for 5 minutes).
7) Minimize nnEMF in your house.
8) Limit or avoid daytime naps.
9) Have a regular sleep schedule.
10) Take an epsom salt bath before going to bed.
Now the rest of the steps are very simple (simple, not easy).
-Heal your gut.
Here are 4 threads that will help you with that.
-Hydrate the right way.
Here's how you can do this.
-Detox
-And have the right skincare routine
Things such as addressing unbound iron and your light environment which are also crucial for skin health, are addressed in these threads.
