I see this most often with gimmicky-type products that are funny and interesting enough to get millions of views...
But don’t provide any real value for someone to actually purchase.

BUT at the same time though, blaming the product is also one of the biggest scapegoats I've ever seen.
So even though it's worth mentioning it, make sure you do not turn a blind eye to the other 5 variables on this list!!

2. Context
This is one all of my students know that I preach non-stop.
Giving actual context that you are showcasing YOUR product/business, not just making some random content for consumption.
The results from effectively doing this can be night and day.

The first video got Moments 10,000+ downloads while the second video (made by a friend) didn’t even get a single sale.
To sum it up, you want to make it clear that your BUSINESS deserves virality, not just some goofy, unrelated shit you did in your video.

3. CTAs
Call to actions are not 100% necessary, BUT I have seen them make a huge difference at the right time.
I think there is great value in guiding people to your offer to make them convert, as long as you don't shove it down people's throats.

Overall, I can tell you first hand that poor context + zero CTAs is one of the ultimate recipes for low conversions and site visitors.
I see it over and over in the messages where people tell me they made $0 it's crazy, so make sure you keep this in mind.

4. Trust
The beauty of TikTok is that it is normal (and if not, the best practice) to film content right from your phone.
But think about this...
Would you really want to buy from a video that was filmed in a musty ass room with somebody's ugly ass toes in the shot? 😂

So keep this in mind if you are slacking on your locations and video etiquette.
It could be the reason your videos are getting engagement but also the reason they aren't converting.
Make it make sense for both of those goals.

5. Your Website
If you nail the first 4 things above, it is likely that you will push 10s, (if not 100s) of thousands of people to your website with every viral video.
But if your site is SHIT and doesn’t align with your marketing, of course it will not convert to sales.

A website CRO specialist can work wonders for your brand on this and it’s something I rlly wish I focused on more with mine early on.

Luckily though it’s decently rare and very easy to check for as long as you are watching your TikTok and website visitor analytics.

Always remember that if you are getting millions of views, you should be generating tens of thousands of dollars or more, and if you aren’t, it’s likely one of these!
