11 body language hacks to boss any conversation:
1. Try to keep your hands away from your face
We tend to touch our faces when we are nervous, which can come across as shifty or untrustworthy. If you find yourself touching your face, try to keep your hands busy by fidgeting with a pen or holding onto something.
2. Make sure you have an open posture
Sit or stand in a way that commands attention without making yourself seem too closed off. Try to keep your shoulders back, chest open, and head level.
3. Practice good eye contact
Good eye contact is essential for building trust. When you’re talking to someone, try to keep your gaze around eye level. Avoiding eye contact can make you seem untrustworthy or uninterested.
4. Use hand gestures to emphasize your points
Gestures can help you appear more confident and articulate. When you’re speaking, try using sweeping gestures to emphasize your points
5. Smile more often
Smiling is a great way to show that you’re friendly and approachable. It can also make you seem more likable and trustworthy.
6. Point your feet toward whoever you’re talking to
When we're interested in someone, we tend to point our feet in their direction.
If you notice your feet aren't pointed towards a person you're talking to, turn your body so your feet are pointing at them, not your ankles.
7. Match the other person’s tone and volume
If you want to come across as likable, it’s important to mirror the other person’s tone and volume. This will help put them at ease and make it easier for you to build a connection.
8. Avoid fidgeting too much
Try to avoid touching or playing with your hair or clothes.
if possible, and instead find ways to keep yourself busy without drawing attention away from the conversation.
9. Pay attention to your posture
Good posture will help you appear more confident and poised. Try to keep your shoulders back, chest out, and head up when interacting with other people.
10. Be aware of your facial expressions
Take a moment to think about the messages that different expressions might convey before choosing one for any given situation.
11. Avoid bad habits like yawning or cracking your knuckles
These habits will make you seem bored or uninterested. If you find yourself doing them, try to take a break from the conversation or excuse yourself for a moment.
12. Practice good body language in all situations
Try to be aware of the messages that your posture, facial expressions, and gestures are sending, and adjust your behavior accordingly.
Other ways to improve your body language include:
-Practicing in front of a mirror
