2) How often do you hear someone becoming a millionaire through winning the lottery going back to work?
How often do you hear people with an above average paycheck still working 5-6 days a week?
They all have 1 thing in common that they fail miserably at.

3) They upgrade their monthly expenses but not their lifestyle.
We can all agree that for the most part there's a blueprint to more happiness.
β© If you have enough money to sustain your basic needs the nr. 1 life ingrediΓ«nt to happiness is having more FREE time.

4) Many studies have shown that money does bring happiness but only to a certain degree.
Wouldn't you say a life free of boundaries, free of getting up the morning, free of ANY obligations is true happiness?

5) Yet most people that make money upgrade their expenses.
The first thing they do is buy a bigger car, buy a bigger house, buy a more expensive cellphone.
The result?
They can afford it but still have to work 5-6 days a week!

6) All while:
β’ Every car drives you from point A to B.
β’ Every modern cellphone can call and run every application.
β’ Every piece of clothing keeps you warm.
β’ Every house keeps you safe.
A case study of a real example which is my own father π

7) My father is a pretty wealthy man.
Not through luck or smart decisions but through sheer effort.
He works 6 days a week, 14 hours a day for as long as I can remember.
He lives in a big mansion and drives a really expensive car.

8) To this day he still complains he had such a rough life and can honestly say his life hasn't been good for him (he told me in his emotional moments).
We don't talk a lot since my parents divorced early and he's not really the father figure.
But we try to keep in touch.

9) This is basically a representation of his life:
β’ He has a fancy car that he only takes out on Sunday because he works 6 days a week.
β’ He has a big mansion that he only uses to go to sleep.
β’ He has a big TV that he doesn't use.

10) The irony of it all?
He sometimes tells me he really hopes I one day become rich and help him so he doesn't have to work that much anymore.
Did I forget to mention he has a 15 years younger wife that doesn't work and loves money? π

11) It's for this reason I never told him any of my past crypto earnings.
My father was and still is really greedy as a "parent". He never shared anything.
Anyways, he isn't my first priority but my siblings are.

12) The difficult part is that neither my father nor any other wealthy individual quite often knows what to do about this.
I tried to tell him one time that if he settled for a normal life he would be able to work 2 days a week and still easily survive.

13) What's a car when you can only drive it on Sunday or a huge television when you can never look at it.
When I just became 20 there was a topic in school that asked most of the students what they would purchase if their bank accounts would be filled with 50k β¬ suddenly.

14) For most of the boys it was an easy answer:
" Going to buy a mustang or nice Mercedes when I get the chance"
For most of the girls:
" Buy some really nice clothes or jewelry and some gifts for my family".

15) Little do they know that this single decision costs 10 years of their lives.
Where I come from a small apartment has about the same rental fee as a mortgage on a monthly base.
The difference?
Getting a mortgage costs about 20-30k initial fee (10% of the total sumn).

16) And since you are paying rent on a monthly base it's really difficult to save up to buy your own place.
Takes years to recover from that initial decision (save up and don't leave the parental house to soon kids).
The point is life is all about the decisions you make.

17) Less than halve of it is about the money you earn.
I was blessed to have received a lot of the wisdom from living with my mom instead of my dad.
She earned a lot less than my dad but was so much smarter with her life decisions.

18) Conclusion:
You can only truly upgrade your life if you keep your lifestyle expenses the same as before.
Reaching your financial goals will be meaningless if your life still looks the same.
β© Added luxury but no freedom.
