Dear PG Students,
Academic Humility:
I love this concept because it exposes you to opportunities to learn irrespective of the "giver" of the knowledge. The benefit of academic humility for a postgraduate student is based the fact that the postgraduate journey requires

"academic communal" effort. One of my favorite pages in a thesis is the ACKNOWLEDGMENT PAGE. It is a reminder that you benefitted from many people; academics, family and friends who played different roles in your pursuit of a postgrad degree.

Academic humility could sometimes "force" you to engage with a younger person who is knowledgeable about a research concept you currently struggle with. Swallow your pride and learn what you need. I do not know anyone struggling with research whose ego has helped.

Brilliance is not the same as intelligence. Be wise and smart.
