2023 is shaping up to be a HUGE year for airdrops.
In recent years, people made up to:
• $50k on $OP
• $30k on $ENS
• $18k on $UNI
• $6k on $APT
But there are many more opportunities around the corner.
🧵: 20 upcoming airdrops that I've got my eye on. 👇
There are very little cases in life where you can earn hundreds (or thousands) of dollars for very little effort.
Airdrops are one of them.
And although it may cost a bit of time and patience, in the long run it's well worth it!
This thread will focus on 20 airdrops, which I believe are the "pillars" that you should be aiming for this year.
I'll be releasing more threads on smaller ecosystem airdrops in the future.
This list is in no particular order. Let's dive in! 👇
2. @vela_exchange
Vela is a perp DEX launching on the Arbitrum blockchain.
Their private beta launches in 2 days, with an open beta launching in 2 weeks.
The $DXP token has been exploding recently, and you could get free tokens just for participating.
3. @zksync
It's clear that ZK is the future of scaling Ethereum, and
zkSync is at the forefront of this innovation.
It may be too late for an airdrop, but it's still worth a shot imo.
It will likely be a big one so there may be enough to go around.
4. @Scroll_ZKP
Scroll is another zkEVM-based zkRollup, that enables native compatibility for existing Ethereum applications and tools.
They recently hinted at an airdrop, stating that they're "creating an incentive mechanism to encourage participation."
5. @LayerZero_Labs
LayerZero is the ultimate interoperability layer, which is a narrative I'm super excited about.
Like zkSync, this one is also getting more saturated, but it takes little time (and the ecosystem is also fun to use and experiment with).
6. @shardeum
Shardeum is upcoming linearly scalable L1, utilising dynamic state sharding.
5% of the tokens are reserved for the community to be distributed via Airdrops.
1. Add Shardeum to Metamask
2. Request Tesnet tokens
3. Use network (tasks below)
7. @SeiNetwork
Sei is built on Cosmos, and is the first sector-specific L1, specialised for trading to "give exchanges an unfair advantage".
Airdrop is confirmed (they will be distributing 1% of all tokens to beta testers).
How to get involved:
8. @Starknet
StarkWare is a ZK-based L2 scaling solution, which utilises STARK proofs to alleviate blockchain congestion.
Their Mainnet is live soon, and although it's getting late to qualify, there may still be some opportunities.
9. @Gammax_Exchange
An upcoming project that I like on StarkNet is GammaX.
It's an orderbook-style DEX that utilises StarkEX technology.
You can apply for their Testnet here (using my link): bit.ly.
Here's the full airdrop strategy:
10. @Neutron_org
Neutron is designed to be the premier venue for Interchain SC deployment on Cosmos.
Neutron is funded with $ATOM, so $ATOM stakers will likely be the recipients of an airdrop.
But, there may be more distribution methods in the future.
11. @CelestiaOrg
Celestia is a modular network, enabling anyone to easily deploy their own blockchain with minimal overhead.
For the airdrop, consider:
• Setting up a wallet and getting Testnet tokens
• Transacting on the network
• Running a node
12. @fuellabs_
Fuel Labs is building Fuel, the "world's fastest modular execution layer."
Their Beta-2 Testnet recently went live, meaning there may be an opportunity for early adopters.
13. @QuaiNetwork
Quai Network is an L1 network of chains, which utilises a combination of merged mining and sharding.
It has 5 Testnets launching prior to Mainnet (thus an airdrop is likely), as well as adoption incentives.
The steps are quite simple:
14. @arbitrum
This is probably the most anticipated airdrop in crypto.
Is it too late? Probably.
My focus is now primarily on the ecosystem (I'll post a thread on this strategy soon).
Here's a link to my original Arbitrum airdrop thread from October:
15. @rage_trade
The cool thing about this airdrop is that it (potentially) helps you qualify for 3 airdrops at once:
• Arbitrum
• Rage Trade
• LayerZero
16. @vertex_protocol
Vertex is another upcoming perp DEX on Arbitrum.
Their token is launching soon and will likely have an airdrop.
These are some of the steps you can follow to qualify:
17. @MetaMask
We know the long-awaited $MASK token is coming soon.
Most of us use MetaMask, but I'd recommend using these features on several occasions (if you haven't already):
• Swap assets
• Bridge assets
• Use the wallet for DeFi activities
18. @LensProtocol
Lens Protocol is a decentralised social network. It has a low carbon footprint and an established web3 team behind it.
I've attached 2 helpful threads covering a) Lens itself, and b) the ecosystem.
19. @Tribe3Official
Tribe is the first Gamified NFT Futures DEX.
I think there's a lack of NFT trading solutions on the market, and this is a refreshing take on the existing model.
Their Testnet just launched, which could be a key airdrop prerequisite.
20. @aztecnetwork
Aztec is a privacy-first zk-rollup on Ethereum bringing confidentiality and cost savings to the Ethereum ecosystem.
They recently raised $100m, led by @a16z.
Here's how to best position yourself for an eventual airdrop:
Here are a few tips for those that are new to the airdrop game:
1. Stay up to date with project updates.
If you're going for an airdrop, it's important to stay in the loop.
Make sure you join their Discords (you can create a dedicated Discord folder to keep track of all your airdrops).
Also follow the projects you like on Twitter.
This is a great thread detailing some of the key airdrop farming management tips, including:
1. Staying active on chain
2. Chain diversification
3. How to focus your farming on a few projects
4. Interacting with new protocols
5. How to keep up to date
2. When it comes to airdrop hunting - nothing is guaranteed.
In fact, a lot of the time the amount is negligible or the project doesn't issue an airdrop.
But all you need to catch is one to make it worth your while.
We also have to manage our expectations.
Some of these airdrops may indeed be valued at thousands of dollars, but some might end up being a few hundred, or <$100.
Every dollar counts, and by doing more, you expose yourself to a greater chance of hitting a big winner over time.
3. Many of the aforementioned protocols have ecosystem projects underneath them that could have airdrops.
So, for example, if you think it's too late to qualify for LayerZero or Arbitrum - start searching for the unreleased projects in their ecosystems which could have airdrops.
Over the next few weeks I'm going to be sharing my individual ecosystem airdrop guides (Cosmos, Arbitrum etc).
So make sure you're following me @milesdeutscher so you don't miss them!
