My tweets on women in the Armed forces have generated enough controversy but I cannot leave this uncomfortable topic unaddressed.
If I'm going down with this, I would like to do so in a ball of flames. So here's the thread.
I want to make myself clear, there are cases where women in the armed forces are absolutely necessary and that is in military police. You need women to deal with female civilians whenever there's a COIN Op or Operations other than War.
Now, what we are seeing is the civilian government trying to push for more induction of women into the armed forces, especially the army as it has been the service which lagged behind.
Recently the Artillery Corp has been opened up to women and I personally think we will see more branches being opened up as well.
The army brass being uberconservative is something I have a hard time believing given the recent wokery.
From the all women's peacekeeping force being sent to South Sudan to the posting of a female officer in Siachen.
Now, Moving on. What can we learn from the experiences of most other forces that have taken in lots of women?
Sexual harassment cases will skyrocket and the victims will not get any justice. This has been the case in the US army and the Israeli Defense Force.
The situation in the US army was so bad that most female soldiers used to carry knives with them for self defense.

There's also stories I've heard from NATO officers personally about this problem, not going to discuss that here. I'll leave you people with the links above.
Coming to the Indian army, Most cases of misconduct are handled internally. The Army doesn't have to deal with the supreme court's guidelines on most things as they come under the Army act.
I have very little faith in internal inquiries and lack of transparency isn't reassuring.
The ones who have to escape will escape and the victims won't get any justice. This is worse here because we don't have the power to hold most institutions accountable.
Ask questions and you'll be attacked by a bunch of idiots who worship the government. Along with a slew of legal cases and other trouble to keep you quite.
Sexual harassments and assault in the Indian military happens, the lack of cases that make it out to the public isn't evidence of no cases.
Service women rarely come out in the open because they usually don't get any support, this is the case in most militaries.
Give this interview a listen, the lady speaks in Punjabi mixed with English but most Hindi speakers will be able to understand.

I'm ending the thread with this. You are free to come to your own conclusions about the merits of inducting more women into the armed forces.
Lastly, I would like to thank all my friends for standing with me. Your support means a lot.
