Analyzing the 14 UCL winning seasons of Real Madrid [THREAD] 🧵
1st European Cup's Winner - 1955/56 This one doesn't count as Di Stefano helped Madrid finish 1st in La Liga in the previous season by being their highest scorer which allowed them to participate in this trophy. Franco stole Di Stefano from Barca. -1 UCL
2nd European Cup's Winner - 1956/57 •En Route to final, they won 1st leg against Wien by 4-2 but then lost 2nd leg by 3-1 (out by away goals rule) •Final was played in Bernabeu🤔 •Ref gave a pen in the final despite linesman calling offside, then taking the lead -1 UCL
3rd European Cup's Winner - 1957/58 I'm afraid I'll have to deduct another UCL for Madrid, as the best team at that time was Manchester United. Unfortunately the Munich Air Disaster happened that season and Man U was eliminated by finalists, Milan, in the semi finals. -1 UCL
4th European Cup's Winner - 1958/59 Every other country had their league winners participate in the Cup, except Spain. Because Madrid have different rules. Anyway, in the semis they faced Atleti. Atleti lost 1st leg 2-1, but won the away leg 0-1 (out by away goals rule) -1 UCL
5th European Cup's Winner - 1959/60 Franco struck again. Barca was managed by the best manager in the world, Helenio Herrera, who somehow managed to lose to Madrid in the semi finals. He left the following year for Inter and took Suarez from us as well. Clear corruption -1 UCL
6th - European Cup's Winner - 1965/66 Back then Inter used to openly match fix. Eliminating Liverpool with the help of refs. One ref even admitted they tried buying UCL Finals. How can we trust Madrid actually eliminated Inter in the semis, instead of buying them out? -1 UCL
7th - UCL - 1997/98 In the only goal scored in the finals, Mijatovic was clearly offside. As usual referees turned a blind eye 👍🏻 -1 UCL
8th - UCL - 1999/00 Shocking, but a controversy free UCL for Madrid 😲
9th - UCL - 2001/02 Real Madrid was helped massively by Luis Figo, who was the best player in the world. A player that was bullied into joining Madrid by Papa Perez. Sorry but this UCL belongs to Barca 👍🏻 -1 UCL
10th - UCL - 2013/14 La Decima. No controversies. No complaints. Lol who am I kidding? Here's a photo of Bale elbowing Juanfran at the same time Ramos scored the 92:48 Equalizer. Referees conveniently missed it as usual 🤔 -1 UCL
11th - UCL - 2015/16 Ramos was offside in this late equalizer that took the match to ET. But of course the linesman didn't raise his flag, because the rules are different for the "Kings of Europe" Poor Atleti, screwed out of 2 UCLs by Madrid. -1 UCL
12th - UCL - 2016/17 One of the most disgraceful refereeing ever seen in UCL SFs. •2 (TWO offside goals) scored by Ronaldo
•Vidal wrongly sent off
•Numerous penalties not given to Bayern What even is the point "winning" like this? -1 UCL
13th - UCL - 2017/18 Vs Bayern
•Handball not given against Marcelo
•Casemiro not sent off
•Penalties not given to Bayern Vs Juve
•Dybala sent off for kicking Carvajal, but Carvajal was the one who stepped on Dybala first
•Pen not given to Juve for foul on Cuadrado -1 UCL
14th - UCL - 2021/22 Thousands of Liverpool fans were not allowed in the stadium, and many more were pepper sprayed in the face, which caused the finals to be delayed. This completely derailed Liverpool's night who otherwise seemed set to win their 7th UCL. -1 UCL
After thorough investigation of every season that Real Madrid has won the UCL, I have come to the conclusion that Madrid has won only 1 Real UCL. Sorry Madrid fans but 5 > 1 👍🏻
