The specialty of this temple is that Prabhu Sri Ram with Mata Sita and Lakshmana stayed here for sometime on their way back to Ayodhya after the great Rama-Raavana Yuddha.
The Moorthis of this temple are here from the Ramayana times, believed to be carved by Sugreeva himself.

It is believed that Sri Ram left his Dhanusha here for the people as the people were not allowing them to go back to Ayodhya and that's why the name Kodanda Rama Temple.
