This man earned the support of 10 Mn students by teaching them maths.
He is now helping Indian students access quality education through equality.
I spoke to him about the 10 things he learned along the way; a thread 🧵
1. ALWAYS dream big.
Your dreams know no age, environment, or barrier.
The clearer it is in your mind that you want to achieve something, the easier it becomes to do it.
2. Performing well is a habit.
It won't happen overnight that you do not enjoy anything until standard 12th and the next morning you're suddenly excellent in business.
It doesn't matter what you choose to do, develop the habit to be the best at it.
3. The biggest realizations come from the simplest moments.
Not having a job doesn't affect you when you are out at a party.
But it might hit you when you are sitting alone, maybe amidst your family, and your mind is clear of any thoughts.
4. Failures are the best setbacks .
Sometimes, being rejected from something that you wanted the most can be a blessing in disguise and a redirection for bigger things!
5. Emotional Intelligence & realistic expectations are a man's best friend.
No matter if you are running a business, doing a government job, or are a student.
These skills will help you healthily navigate your emotions & help you understand that success isn’t achieved overnight
6. Your parents are your biggest supporters.
They give up on a lot of their dreams to give wings to ours.
So once we are capable and grown up, it is our duty as children to look after their well-being.
7. You don’t always start big.
Your first startup might begin from a small bedroom and a few 100s or 1000s of investments, but it’s a reality.
But the goal is to hustle so that one day that bedroom automatically becomes small to accommodate all your customers.
8. You earn money for your credibility.
When you are good at a skill and are helping people selflessly with it, the money starts automatically flowing in.
Initially, because of your skill, but ultimately for the credibility that your name brings to the field.
9. There should be no discount in education.
Because chances are that a student might postpone studying something in the hopes that the price of the course will be dropped.
The better approach is to make it accessible for everyone through scholarship and welfare schemes.
10. Going viral should not be the aim of your life.
The main aim is to be known for what you do.
Because people won’t pay you just because you’re famous, but they will pay because your name is credible in your field.
This week I invited Abhinay Sharma, an educator and the founder of @abhinaymaths.
We talked about his journey of becoming India’s favorite maths teacher with the help of YouTube!
