Here are 13 lessons I learned while scaling my Google ads agency:

1/ Selling Isn’t About Selling
To close prospects, you need to connect with people and build relationships.
Focus on asking questions and listening to their problems.
Be genuine and transparent.
This goes a long way in building the trust to close the sale.
2/ Network Is A Force Multiplier
The more people you know, the more potential clients you have.
The more prospects you have, the more likely you are to close new business.
Stay in touch with your existing contacts, and collaborate with business where you can.
3/ The Niche Of One
Focus on what makes you unique.
What can you offer others that you can't?
When you have a brand, you quickly differentiate yourself.
People want to buy from those they know, like, and trust.
Having a brand that gives value everyday makes you that guy.
4/ Retention Is The Key To Growth
Provide value to your clients month after month.
When you focus on retention, you create a cycle of growth for your business.
Happy clients keep paying you, and they are likely to refer new clients.
It’s a win-win.
5/ Specialization Pays
Last year I was doing TikTok, Facebook, and Google ads. My income was $7K/month.
In the last year, I doubled down on Google and skyrocketed my MRR.
Become the go-to expert for a specific problem.
6/ Quality over quantity
Do quality things from the start.
- Hire top talent
- Invest in top courses
- Overdeliver to retain
Always go for quality straight away. You provide a better overall experience for your clients.
And puts you in a better position to scale long-term.
7/ Don’t be afraid to Raise Your Rates
You can’t infinitely scale the # of clients without sacrificing quality.
Instead, focus on giving a quality service and raise your prices.
Deliver value that goes above-and-beyond your price. You will never lack in clients.
8/ Be Proactive in Your Client Communication
Keep your clients updated on any progress or issues.
They shouldn’t be chasing you for progress updates.
Maintain an open line with them. It gives a better experience and makes them more likely to keep working with you.
9/ Don’t Do it All Yourself
You can’t do everything yourself.
Learn to delegate tasks to your team members and trust them to get the job done.
This can be a hard lesson to learn, but it’s essential if you want to scale your business successfully.
10/ Stay Marketing
Don’t think you’re safe because you have a handful of clients this month.
Keep your pipeline full.
This mitigates any financial risk and forces you to build systems to scale.
11/ Get Comfortable Saying No
Be okay with saying no to clients or projects that don’t fit with your vision or that would stretch you too thin.
Focus on the clients and tasks that will push the needle.
12/ The Sky's The Limit
Don’t be afraid to aim high and think big.
Nothing will happen if you stay comfortable.
Everything happens when you force yourself to go above and beyond.
13/ Play to your strengths
Know what your company does best.
Focus your energy on finding clients that need those specific services.
You will blow every generalist out of the water.
That’s everything.
