How to humiliate your opponent in an argument.
A thread that should be illegal:
Disclaimer:
Whether your enemies, politicians, the news media, advertising…
They often use the art of manipulation against you, using some intellectual dirty ticks.
to gain the advantage over the eyes of the audience.
The reason I’m sharing this with you is to make you aware of the ways they use and resist their influence.
Let’s start.
1. Domino effect.
If your opponent idea makes sense
Think about possible consequences.
And then accuse your opponent that his idea will lead to a domino effect of negative things that will lead to a disaster.
Cause despite his idea (1) isn’t being that bad it implies(2) and then(3) which is horrible.
Exemple:
The vaccin, (1) is not a bad idea
But it can (2)lead to complications.
Which then (3) can lead to death.
2. Call for perfection.
Your opponent wants you to agree oh his idea and you know you can’t argue on this one without losing credit in the eyes of the audience.
Fine agree but demand impossible conditions.
Example :
«  I agree on the vaccin being distributed but only if there’s 0% of risks of side effects.»
This tactic will help you divert the audience so that they don’t find out that you have non intentions of allowing your opponent idea to take place.
3. Create a false dilemma.
You have to make your opponent and the audience think that,
there is only two possible choices when there is much more.
Most people will agree to it cause they want clear and easy choices instead of complex alternatives.
You must give black or white form of arguments,
With one you want the audience and your opponent to choose, an the other wich is unnaceptable.
Exemple:
« you’re either for war(1)
or ur against your country.(2)
When there is 3,4,5…
4. Substitute the argument.
Here you want to substitute your
opponent actual argument and exaggerate it in some kind of extreme version.
Version you have to present in a form that people will reject and make the argument much easier to refute and break down.
Example:
« Vaccines are safe. »(1)
« You’re saying there is no side effects?!»(2)
That's a wrap!
