I made $60,465 from 2 niche websites in 2022.
Both were monetized with Amazon Affiliate and Ezoic.
Here's what I would do if were to start again from scratch with no money.

1. Choose a profitable niche
While some niches are more profitable than others there's no such thing as "one niche to rule them all."
You can find success in any niche, as long as you target low-competition keywords.
I would go for a niche that has commercial intent and is something I enjoy writing about.
2. Register a brandable domain
Look for a domain name that is unique and brandable.
You don't want to limit your website's ability to branch out to other topics in the future.
3. Stick to the bare necessities
Create a logo for free on Canva.
Buy a $5 hosting.
Use a free theme like Astra.
4. Keyword research
Use Google autocomplete to come up with 30 to 50 article topics.
Find low-competition keywords.
You've struck gold when you see Reddit, Quora, and forum posts on the first page.
5. Publish articles
Write at least 1 article per day.
Use the "People also ask" section on Google to come up with headings for your article.
Be as informative and helpful as possible, but don't add fluff.
6. Interlink
Make sure to interlink between articles, but don't overdo it.
One article should link to 3-4 other articles on your website.
7. Monetize
Once you've reached 10,000 pageviews, monetize your website with Ezoic.
If you haven't reached 10,000 pageviews, your focus should be publishing helpful content, not monetization.
8. Rinse and repeat
Analyze your Search Console data.
Find topics that do well and double down on them.
You want to keep publishing helpful articles that Google loves.
