in about 5 years time American public education is going to be entirely unrecognizable and colleges are completely unprepared for the all out assault on education underway

public education has already been gutted and they’re setting their sights on higher education.
We could have spent that time organizing a nation-wide movement but the very structure of higher education keeps us all siloed and fighting for shrinking funds and disappearing jobs

our professional orgs could have organized themselves as a union, could have spent the past several years mobilizing but instead stood by and watched an enforced austerity that has effectively killed off jobs and soon whole departments & majors
